Hello guys, I'm back again with my post entry for this week's Steemit Engagement Challenge contest.

So in this week's contest, we are to talk about steemit and Covid-19, and how steemit helped us during the covid. If you missed the Contest post, you can have it here.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Before further engagements, let's look at the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects briefly.

Covid-19 pandemic (Coronavirus Pandemic) is a global pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019. It was caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome. It was first discovered in China in December 2019. Every attempt to regulate it's spread failed and the virus spread to all over parts of the world just within a very short space of January to June 2020.

The pandemic brought about severe social and economic disruption around the world/globe. This led to the global lock down where people were restricted from moving around. The pandemic took away human's freedom of movement and interaction from us. Businesses, malls, institutions, transport companies, banks, markets etc were all short down. And people were forced to sit at a place for quite a long period of time.

STEEMIT AND COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Difficulties I Personally Encountered During The Pandemic:

• Movement Restriction:
  One thing I love in my life is freedom. I love going to anywhere I choose to any day any time without restrictions. So it was so difficult for me sitting at a place, not stepping out for a very long period of time. But I had to live with it, since that was what the season brought.

• No Flow Of Income:
  Before the pandemic, I was working as a coding facilitator in a coding school. So during the pandemic, everyone was forced to sit at home and our online classes had not started then, so there was no means of getting money any more. There was no Flow of income to my account. I exhausted all I had worked for, without any money coming into my account.

• Scarcity Of Food:
  During the pandemic, my kitchen was literally dried. I was actually living below my standard. This was because money stopped coming, I exhausted the ones I had and there was no means of getting another, so there was no money to buy more food.

How Steemit Blockchain Helped Me During The Pandemic.

My Steemit journey actually started in July 2020. Before then, I wasn't used to online businesses and payments. But the pandemic forced me to look out for online businesses I can do and generate money while at home. So I got in contact with a facebook advert by @focusnow promoting steemit. I knew this was what I wanted. I joined the class and got started on steemit. That was the turning point of my financial freedom while at home during the pandemic.

• Steemit Sustained Me Financially:
  All through that pandemic period, I was sustained by my Steemit earnings. My feeding, my expenses, literally everything I did financially was from my Steemit earnings.

• Steemit Gave Me Quality Relationships:
  During the pandemic, we were all locked out and couldn't associate with other persons, but steemit gave me the platform to socialize with people from the community and exposed me to the life style of different people from different parts of the world.

• Steemit Introduced Me To Online Business Proper:
  Steemit plus the pandemic opened my eyes to see that I don't need to leave my house on daily basis rushing for a job before I can make money. I was able to realize that there is more money online than offline, again at what I use to believe before. So even after the pandemic, I was able to source out for more opportunities online.

I Promoted Steemit On My Social Media Platforms To Reach Out To Friends And Loved Ones:

Steemit actually opened my eyes to a whole lots of things I never knew before the pandemic.

Out of joy and to extend a hand of help to my friends and loved ones and those that cared, I promoted steemit on all my social media handles to reach out to my friends and loved ones who might be interested in getting involved into the platform and also experience what I was experiencing.

My effort actually yielded profit as some of my friends started getting involved into the steemit blockchain through my social media invites (the likes of @ceendy20, @davchi etc). It was a beautiful adventure to us all. And they all benefited and was glad they took the bold step to join.

They also made good money from the platform, and even had to extend same hand to some other persons to join the platform.

I am also grateful to God because nobody from my family was infected by the with the Covid-19 disease. We were all preserved and protected. Sound and healthy.

Conclusion

Truly, steemit was a rescue for me and some of my friends and loved ones during the pandemic. At a point people around me noticed that I was always having money, I was always buying things and some strated depending on me for help.

The pandemic period was not funny at all in most families, but I am grateful that I discovered steemit at that same season and till date I have not regrated my decision in joining steemit for once.
