Growing the Nigerian Steem Community

in hive-105727 •  5 years ago

Steem Naija is a community created specifically for any activity, post or content about or related to Nigeria. The motivation behind the platform is to give Nigerians and anyone with content related to the country a platform to share it and interact with people with similar interests.

Nigeria is a blessed country, but we have some peculiar problems that have hampered our development. In this community, Nigerians and anyone interested will get an opportunity to meet and interact with Nigerian Steemians and hear their perspective.

I was having a conversation with @acidyo, @anouk.nox @hiddenblade and others in the OCD discord about the fact that there are over 200 dialects in Nigeria. Despite our differences, there's some form of unity in diversity. In this community, we'll get an opportunity to share information about our different views, culture, meals, and tradition.

Ultimately, it is all about growing and promoting Steem, and one way of doing that is by attracting other Nigerians to the platform by showcasing great and relatable content. I know a couple of Nigerian Steemians like @mistakili @samminator, @oluwoleolaide, @uyobong, @josediccus, @mattsanthonyit, @ejemai and I'm looking forward to meeting and interacting with more.

Encouraging Authors

The community is still relatively quiet and small, with only nine members in the group, but hopefully, the number will rise with time. I'll be doing the most to reward content with my little Steem power and will also send authors tips in the form of Steem, SBD and Steem-engine tokens for encouragement.

Community contests and activities

There will be writing, photography and video contests hosted by the community in the near future. Further information about it will be published here.

There will also be tips and rewards given to people who engage and interact with other authors and content creators in the community.

Collaboration with @airhawk-project

Steem Naija Community will be collaborating with @airhawk-project, one of the leading platforms that bring Steem to Nigerian's doorsteps by facilitating secure exchange with Fiat(Naira) and provides relevant information and support to Nigerian Steemians.

@airhawk-project is focused on encouraging authors that create quality content and are very supportive of the growing Nigerian community on the Steem Blockchain. @airhawk-exchange is a subsidiary of the umbrella project where Sellers can meet buyers of Steem, SBD, and Steem-engine tokens and exchange for fiat(Naira) or any other currency.
