A baby whose mission is to save his company.
The story opens by showing how the baby production process is at a baby manufacturing company, BabyCorp. Several stages are passed to create a baby, in the last stage there are two sides that determine the baby's fate, namely plunging into the human world or becoming a baby who works BabyCorp. Some babies who act like babies descend into the human world, while those who don't laugh and act like babies become part of the BabyCorp company. One of the babies calls himself Boss Baby. In the real world, there are happy families playing together, the Templeton family, namely Ted as the father, Janice as the mother, and Tim as the child. Tim is a very active child who is full of imagination. Tim is very happy because he has parents who are always there to accompany him. Everything changed when Tim got a younger brother, Boss Baby.
Boss Baby is no ordinary baby. The team tries to get evidence that Boss Baby is not an ordinary baby to his parents. However, when the Team searched for evidence, it was unexpected that Boss Baby had a team of 5 babies, namely Jimbo, Staci, and the triplets. The babies help Boss Baby to stop Tim's actions. In the end, Tim gets a recording of the babies' behavior, but Boss Baby doesn't lose his mind. She threatens to destroy Tim's favorite doll. Tim's parents who heard the commotion approached them and because Tim is an older brother, the parents scolded Tim and told Tim to go to his room.
Tim is very angry with Boss Baby while Boss Baby feels guilty and finally meets Tim and explains the reason and purpose for coming into the life of the Templeton family. Boss Baby tells that he has a dream to become a top manager in his company and that he has a role model, namely Francis. Francis is a very inspiring boss for Boss Baby. Boss Baby's mission is to stop the PuppyCo company from producing puppies. The appearance of a very cute puppy causes human interest in babies to decrease greatly and threatens the existence of BabyCorp. If Boss Baby does not succeed in completing his duties, he will be fired and stay with the Templeton family. Boss Baby also explains how he still survived as a baby. The reason is special formula milk to keep him a baby. After all of Boss Baby's explanations, the Team is finally ready to help Boss Baby in completing his task.
One day, Tim begged his parents to be invited to an event held by PuppyCo. This is done to help Boss Baby infiltrate PuppyCo and complete his mission. When Tim and Boss Baby search for information about the company, the two of them are caught by PuppyCo guards. The two of them were led to the owner's room and how shocked Boss Baby was that the owner of PuppyCo was a baby who became a role model for Boss Baby, Francis. Francis tells why he founded PuppyCo. Francis wants revenge because he was fired from his position as top manager at BabyCorp and grew up as a normal baby. Francis produces puppies using the same formula as BabyCorp so that the puppies will remain puppies.
The next day Tim and Boss Baby's parents are ready to go on a business trip and hire guard Francis who is disguised as a babysitter to look after Tim and Boss Baby. When their parents left, Tim and Boss Baby got into action to escape from the house. Team and Boss Baby were finally able to escape from the house and avoid the guard thanks to the help of the Boss Baby team. They head to the airport, but Boss Baby suddenly turns into a real baby which keeps them from preventing their parents. The team immediately gave Boss Baby special milk so that Boss Baby could return to normal. This failure made Tim very angry with Boss Baby and for a while Boss Baby left Tim alone. But Boss Baby tries to comfort and encourage Tim to keep fighting and not give up. In the end the two of them were able to get up and work together again.
They headed to the location of their parents by infiltrating the plane claiming to be the child of one of the passengers. When they arrive at the event and find their parents, without them knowing it, their guards follow and try to recapture them. Tim's parents noticed Tim and Boss Baby, this made them shocked and angry with Francis. However, Francis captures Tim's parents, while Tim and Boss Baby try to escape from his guard. Tim's parents are in a box which is then tied to a rocket containing the puppies. The two of them struggled to save their parents and fight against Francis and his caretakers. Before the rocket was launched, Tim managed to save his parents who were still in the box and Francis fell into the milk with the same special formula as in BabyCorp. Meanwhile, Boss Baby suddenly turns into a normal baby and gets trapped on a rocket, but in the end, the Team manages to grab Boss Baby and take cover from the rocket that is launching.
The team gave a special drop of milk to Boss Baby and finally he managed to transform back into himself. Francis suddenly appeared and he turned into a baby again. The guard calmed little Francis and finally Francis was taken care of by the guard. Tim, Boss Baby and his parents return to their home. Boss Baby's mission has been completed and it's time for Boss Baby to return to BabyCorp. Everything Tim's parents' memories and items related to Boss Baby were removed. The team doesn't want Boss Baby's memories to be erased. Boss Baby returns to BabyCorp and gets promoted to top manager at BabyCorp, while Tim gets his wish to be an only child again. However, they both feel lonely even though their wish has been granted. One day Tim, feeling lonely, sends a letter to Boss Baby. The letter contains his wish to reunite with Boss Baby as a normal baby. The letter reaches Boss Baby and finally Boss Baby returns to Tim's family as a normal baby. At the end of the story, it is shown that Tim and Boss Baby have grown into adults and Tim has a family.
Despite getting an unsatisfactory rating from film critics, the fact is that the film The Boss Baby is able to top the Box Office in its premiere week. The storyline is easy to guess, but you will quickly fall asleep when you witness the cute and adorable actions of Boss Baby and his friends. This film is quite entertaining to watch with your family and is full of moral messages, especially with the soundtrack of The Beatles' Blackbird song which blends with the theme of the film The Boss Baby.
As an animated film, The Boss Baby has a lot of appeal that is quite strong in the lineup of voice actors. Alec Baldwin as the voice of Boss Baby is able to properly portray the baby character who is pretentiously bossy. Meanwhile Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the show known through the talkshow, Jimmy Kimmel Live, was also able to portray well as the voice of Dad. Likewise with Lisa Kudrow who voiced the character Mom.
The Spider-Man actor, Tobey Maguire, also contributed his voice as an adult team as well as a narrator in the film. Another surprise is that you will find some of the iconic toys that have appeared in the Toy Story films.
