Soil formation

As we all learn from school that soil can be defined as the part of earth on which plant and grass grows. God created everything both in heaven and on earth. Human activities on earth have a very great impact on soil, from experience and research work we learnt that agriculturist have come to find out other ways by which soil of different kinds are formed. Some areas which were less fertile now due to the deposit of some organic matter that have decay and added nutrients to such soil, while some fertilie land has become less fertile due to human activities like exposure of soil to harsh weather or soil erosion.

A good agriculture soil is made up of 50-60 percentage of solid particles, 20 percentage of water in the soil, 15 percentage of air and also 10 percent of nutrients in the soil. The activities of man are numerous like farming on land, dumping of refuse in some designated places, using some areas for recreational activities, building of roads and so many others. Plants utilize nutrients from the soil and also add to it, the dead leaves and the grasses decay and add to it it can also form manure.

When rain falls, erosion from higher land carries pieces of rocks and other things to the lowlands making it very hard for plants to grow.

There is a gradual formation of a type of soil around that lowlands different from the soil that was originally there. Many animals live and feed on it vegetations. All this activities of animals and other climatic changes also affect the soil.

In conclusion it should be noted that soil formation occurs from time to time as the activities of man, animal and other climatic factors.
