SLC S21W6 / Family Picnic

Family time is always the best time anyone can ever have. That togetherness and unity are always there. In my family, we do have sit-outs once a month. Sometimes we stay at home, and in most cases, we go out to recreate moments. I'll be relating the family picnic I had with my parents and siblings in a hotel. It was one of the best.

As much as chilling out with friends is good, chilling out with family creates the best experiences you'll live to remember. So I'll use the questions to deliberate on this family picnic extensively. It was channelled to an anniversary that won't be forgotten easily. The year is ending, and we would soon have another family picnic.

Most people don't know what a family picnic is. The word picnic relates to an outdoor activity done by people and not just a person. *It's mostly described as an occasion where food and drinks are sampled in an open area, eatery, or relaxation center." Most people do their picnics along the river bay. This outdoor activity is one of a kind and is done during leisure.

Since the title of this contest is family picnic, my wonderful parents and lovely siblings accompanied me to this outdoor activity. They were a big part of the picnic at a reserved location where people barely come. We just needed that solemn space where we could focus, share the best moments, and relax. My father joined this movement for the first time.

On a normal level, my dad is always too busy to join our gathering. He's always absent, but this time, he bought time from his work and made himself available to relax and recreate moments with his family.

We were so happy to see him honour this family picnic for the first time. I must admit that anytime my father shows up for something, you can never go hungry. Anything you want to eat, he'll provide, but my mum would be selective. During the picnic in the hotel open area, my dad spoilt the table with drinks before the main menu even came, purchased by my sister.

My family are all Steemians, so I'll conclude that 5 Steemians accompanied me on this adventure.

The place we choose for this picnic is a place I used once for my photo shoot. The name of the hotel is called, CHARLIS APARTMENT. This is much more as the name implies but in a hotel form. It is a two-storey building with an attractive paint design in the interior and exterior. The place is located in the heart of my city's estate. It's more like a reserve area for big men and women and their specialities, which includes; food, drinks etc is very exorbitant because of the location and people that troop in.

Location

The place is located at Ewet Housing, Uyo. We bought our drinks and snacks from a food mart and eatery to avoid unnecessary expenses in the hotel. We just had to purchase drinks in the hotel, so they'll allow us to stay, as buying things outside the hotel is prohibited. Why I choose this place is because it's not as lousy as some reserve area in eateries and other places, and it's not that known, with fewer persons.

The place was lit, and we took lots of pictures because of the catchy background therein. The location of the place via Google Maps is pinned above.

The food menu was rich, though, and it was @mkgirl77 who prepared the food menu. She made a list of snacks and drinks, including cake.

These menus are picnic food menus that can be contained in a basket. A picnic is not considered a family meal where food would be cool and the likes. It's not as if it can't be introduced to a picnic, but it's not that necessary. The use of all these light meals and snacks makes a picnic of which we used for our family picnic. These snacks aren't too sugary or candy-filled but have a balanced composition of the 6 classes of food.

These foods were all packaged in disposable plates, and in each plate, there were two pieces of big-sized chicken, pieces of puff puff, and sausage rolls. The mixture was rich, and we did have the best time that day.

The games played were games full of surprises, though. I'll talk about this later after emphasising the activities done. When we arrived at the apartment, we settled down on chairs available and had light refreshments. There was an order of events that started with prayer and acknowledgement. Then we moved to singing songs as siblings for our parents.

One of the songs sung was You are the Reason. This song highlights the importance of having parents that are the reason you are someone today.......We as siblings, did the singing while they were listening and feeling among......

It was the best moment in their lives, though. They never thought of this surprise. After this, we moved to eating what was on the table and cutting the cake before the main surprises. This surprise started with my mom. I surprised her with a brand new phone during the family picnic. She was so much intrigued and never expected such a surprise.

I also surprised my dad and siblings with brand new phones each. Their smiles and happiness were what kept me laughing all through. When I gifted my brother, his excitement made him jump and roll on the ground. He never expected to have a phone till he was done with the secondary level of education.

My brother came to me and hugged me. He's classified as the children under the specified age in this contest. His happiness was inexpressible with words alone. He held this phone as if he won a trophy.
