It excites me so much when you send a child to buy something in nearby shops and she comes back with the right change, when my parent send me on errands I calculate the change I am to bring back in front of them so they will be sure I won't make mistakes, many people miscalculate today because they don't think quick, addition and subtraction of those digit can only be done easily with a calculator, so when a calculator is not there a lot of miscalculation is made.
Video games like candy fruit crush only helps children crush similar fruits and candies that are alike if the are more than 3 in a row or in a column, but for educational games not virtually played children have real life experience and learn a lot from this games, Do you know LUDO or the one we call AYO?, It involves using dice, playing pieces and stones respectively, it helps a lot in calculations, digits are added so quick, especially in LUDO and calculations are made, this game is fun more explanation are below.
Explain the creative process step by step, including illustrations. Don't forget to share the materials used and the final result |

When materials are missing, creativity emerges and this is what I experienced when I got the Ludo tray from my neighbour without a dice and the tablets, so what I did was that I crafted out the dice by making a cross-like pattern and made each section/square shape regular with my ruler then I number each square boxes.
Each box has dots: one dot(°) on the first one, and two dots(° °) on the second. On it goes on like this till it reaches the sixth dot. A cube has 6 sides, so you can notice that even from the creative process of making this dice, the children are learning about shapes in mathematics.
The next step was to make tablets/playing pieces, which will be used to play along with the numbers that will be displayed when the dice are rolled.
Describe the purpose of the educational game you created. What do you want to teach with the game? |

I don't know if the Ludo game is played in some parts of the world, but since I have been seeing this game on the Play Store, I believe it is everywhere and can be learnt anywhere.
The purpose of this game is first to build a fun and engaging time with my small friend God'sgift, aside from being recreational by offering a break from daily stress, this game helps build cognitive strength by giving room for critical thinking sometimes when we luckily roll the dice to 6,6 on both dice, you need to think of whether to bring another tablet to the starting point or move other tablets/playing pieces that are outside the house following the number 6, that is you count from the box following the arrow to the other boxes. Ludo helps build numeracy, helps children in calculation and colour recognition, and helps develop patience in children.
I don't know this child's age, but I don't think she is above 7 years old because of her speed in calculation, so this game has helped her add numbers quickly in the ludo tablet shift.
In your own words explain how 1 point is played |
---|
I think I already mentioned some parts, but let me be more detailed.
If you look at the ludo plate, you will see that the home of each player is divided into 4, meaning that the number of players in the game could be four, children at this age may choose just one house, meaning 4 children can play to build their concentration.
Each home has several playing pieces, separated by four different colours, The colour is the same as the colour of the home, so if someone picks a home, he stands with his colour so there will be no confusion.
Now there is a rule that permits your dice to leave the house and that is when any of the two dice are rolled and the number 6 is seen on a single dice, if you have like 6 and 2 on these two dice respectively then 6 brings one playing piece out of the house and that playing piece can now move forward to the next two boxes because of the other two on the dice, so what should you know have atleast one 6 on the dice can bring you out and your movement can be made till you return back close to your house that is the only way you that playing pieces can pass through the center lines and to the middle of the game, with this that pieces will be out, the first player to successfully takes all the playing pieces out is the winner.
Did the child like the game? Was he bored or entertained? Do you think this game contributed to the child's learning? Tell us about your experience and that of the child playing the educational game |

This child loved this game apart from just showing her how to play it for the video and picture purposes behind the scenes after the photographs were taken, I ensured we played the real things because God'sgift loves games like this, she wasn't bored by this games because it was her first time and if you watch through my video you will see when she got the number 6 and was happy knowing fully the rules.
As for the educational experience, this game contributed so much to their learning of numeracy; I observed her counting and detected when she missed a number, so I will always be there to correct it.
If I had been able to put all the experience visually it would have been more entertaining, it was her first time playing this game, and this excitement comes when you roll the dice and you get the number six, just like God'sgift got the number six, she knew the more of this number she gets the greater the possibility of making the pieces complete their rounds and winning.
Another experience was the fact that she learnt something, which is the calculation; there was this moment when the 6 digits weren't gotten in the dice, and the frustration felt was different.
Social interactions were amazing. She was patiently waiting to take her turns, and she was also very inquisitive during the play.
I will love to invite @alli001, @drhira, @whizzbro4eva and @bossj23 to join in this contest

Saludos... Que maravilloso juego, aquí lo llamamos ludo, uno se divierte bastante y allí los niños aprenden a sumar.
