THE PELICAN BRIEF... A WALK ON SANIBEL ISLAND. #featheredfriends

Today was just perfect, with 75 degrees temps and partly sunny skies, walking on Sanibel was impossible to resist, and the pelicans were front and center along our walk.

We started out on the most southern tip of the island where we had been a few years ago.
As we walked the shore line we could see the light house in the sky, so we knew we were moving in the right direction.

As we approached an area that I remembered as rough terrain with a rocky shoreline, we saw an extended beach and a new fishing pier.

The pelicans were hungry and diving after the fisherman's bait.
I love to fish, or just watch fishermen, so sexy, hehehe.
As I walked to the end of the pier, I saw a totally different shoreline than I did the last time I was here.

Not only were @thebigsweed and I enjoying the company of the pelicans, so were the little kittles.

These gals flew in and walked the runway for me.

This gal had a little hop in her step.

As we walked the park we became aware of the shoreline restoration project that was underway. Now I understood why I didn't recognize my surroundings.

So beautiful was the shoreline, with soft white sand, tons of birds and lots of preserved tree stands and greenery.

This place was slowly being changed to protect this bird sanctuary.
AWESOME!

This is my most special place on this perfect Island, it holds so many memories for me.

You see, this was my mom's favorite place, she too was a snowbird.

My mom and dad came here for many years, and we were always invited.
My mom, my daughter Erica, and I came here together on many different occasions...

Such a special place!
