Mental and emotional health is underrated in this part of the world. A lot of people are going through shit in the name of relationship/marriage that they've lost every bit of self esteem about them.
Abuse doesn't have to be physical to have a lasting effect. Emotional abuse is just as dangerous, if not worse.
Folks get treated like shit in a relationship or marriage that they forget how it feels to be treated right.
Being with a partner who doesn't see anything good about you and can't pass on a chance to hurl offensive and abusive words at you in a bid to prove a point, is suicidal. The long term effects of this on your overall well-being is devastating.
You're so used to being treated like you don't deserve anything good that you don't even know when somebody means well for you.
Abuse from family, partners or even friends. It takes a toll on a person.
A lot of people were not raised with love, care or attention so they find it hard to acknowledge any of the above attributes from their partners.
How does your partner treat you? How does your husband or wife treat you? Who are you dating or married to?
Your choice of a partner is as important as any decision you'll ever have to make.
Getting married is easy. Staying sane in marriage is the hard part.
Having a relationship is a piece of cake. Staying sane in one is a herculean task.
You don't have to be dating or married to be happy.
Be selfish.
Be greedy about anything that threatens your physical, mental or emotional health.
You deserve the best. Don't let nobody treat you like shit.
