Sorority. More than a Word

Hello Motivation Story friends, today I want to talk about sorority. A term that perhaps sounds more complicated than it really is. According to the Spanish royal academy sorority means sisterhood among women, affection among them basically in matters of gender and female empowerment.

Now this term is very visible and is also heard in many conversations, for me it is much simpler, it is the affection, understanding and empathy that we can and should feel for each other without the need for prior friendship. Culturally we have been educated, on many occasions, to compete with each other and not in a healthy way, we have been told that we are better than others just because of an isolated attitude or a way of dressing. All this information has caused a good number of women to confront each other in their daily lives for no apparent reason, even in causes that are not even theirs.

I believe that solidarity with others in general should be instilled from the time we are children, to always have respect for others and if possible put ourselves in their place. The same should happen with sorority, taught from the older generations to the younger ones, so that they can support each other, connect, so that from the time we are little we can be empathetic with other women who perhaps have not had our life path, and that many times we do not know how it has been, or that having the same, they are simply different. On the contrary, we almost always fall into the bad habit, because I include myself, of making a value judgment from our own truth.

There are many things that happen to us that only another woman can understand, in our work or family life or in our daily lives. I believe that these are times to become more like-minded and less judgmental, among women and in general, with any person. In this world there are many battles that they will have to fight, but I believe that if we at least support each other, part of the war is already won.

A big hug from here to all the women who read me! I invite you to practice sorority every day. This post is in honor of the women who every day struggle to overcome themselves and build a life with equal rights and conditions even in the midst of so much violence and hatred towards all of us.
