It was in 2015 when we resume our 1st year lectures in the University of Uyo, Nigeria. I remember meeting her in a night class where she was just on her own (which was a norm due to her temperament) studying. I greeted, we discussed and soon she had become a close friend. Like I would always say "Friendship is a gift" but this time imagine the gift to be a living thing, maybe a pet, you would go extra mile to care for it if you loved it.
Having a female as a best friend isn't the easiest of things to do because at some points one could develop feelings for his or her friend and this can bring in jealousy and misunderstanding.
My best friend is a very beautiful lady. You may want to ask me how we managed to keep our friendship without separating. It wasn't easy though. But here are some few things that helped us

  1. We had defined our friendship right from th e first day we became friends. That we would only be friends

  2. We Respected each other and gave ourselves the space we need when we need them
  3. We care for one another, sacrifice a lot and even had to go out of our comfort zone to make one comfortable when ever the need arose.
From 100 level to 500 level, we didn't separate, so many other friends we know of had become strangers to themselves

And in June 4th 2021 she got official married to her boyfriend whom she met in 2016. Being very close to an introvert, everyone taught we were dating back in school especially my course mates. I can imagine how the boyfriend would feel. If he didn't have self control or patience.
I'm happy that my friend got married to a good man. May God bless the home.
