At this time of the year,we can all pretend to be living in London due to the slight change in the weather condition which is indeed a great feeling,the early morning fog and the cool breeze slicing through the skin,making a hot cup coffee more relevant to children than ice cream.
This time of the year in the world is basically for showing love to one another,helping others achieve a long term plan,visiting places and making unforgettable memories,all in the spirit of love. But in this part of the world it is more of showing off of wealth,showing superiority,living a carefree life to the detriment of society,indulging in irresponsible acts,making wishes and a little good deed(inconsiderable deeds) and this is tied to mentality our society has developed with. The mentality to show people we have made it(all in pretence), and to be wasteful of our resources instead of actually showing love in any little way.
To a lot of people the festive period means different things to them but this time of the year to the Christians is Christmas,a season set aside to celebrate the birth of Christ by holding a mass(gathering of people to sing songs),thereafter going out to preach love and show love throughout the world. This has been the case for centuries.
The idea of Christmas has been corrupted,this is the season people are robbed more,more death because of the carelessness of others,kidnapping is on the rise and giving arms has turned to folding arms watching others beg due to fear of the unknown.
How do we get out of this mess we have created?
the only way is to recreate a better understanding,change our mentality about the season,knowing that the act of love is not seasonal but always.
