Go on a diet, quit smoking, stop drinking alcohol, start exercising, begin learning languages, or at least start reading a book.
When is the best time to start?
Tomorrow? You can start on Monday or next month, but the best time is with the start of the new year.
Not everyone is like this. There are people who start on schedule and strictly follow a plan. If this describes you, tell me how you manage to do it.
I’ve decided once again to see how long I can last without alcohol.
I don’t consider myself an alcoholic, though most alcoholics don’t consider themselves that either. However, lately, I’ve been drinking more than usual.
On December 30th, I drank champagne, on the 31st, more champagne, and on January 1st — beer. Don’t think I was drinking from morning till night, just in the evenings, and evenings start early in winter😁.
I haven’t written any posts for over a week, and I think drinking played a role in that. Plus, Weisser-rabe was busy with a move and hardly appeared, which reduced my motivation😅.
Starting today, I’m beginning my "new life." I’m not sure how long I’ll last, but I think it’ll do me good.

Oh, my friend, I must plead guilty... The good news: I will now be able to spare more time and effort for the Steem again ;-))
As for drinking alcohol: I really like a good dry red wine or an aged scotch. In moderation. Occasionally. For pleasure. That's totally okay. When my children were younger, especially after my foster son was added, I didn't drink alcohol for over 20 years. He should experience the absolute contrast to his family of origin as an opportunity and possibility... Long after they left home, I started to have a drink again.
You can do well without the stuff. But it's also perfectly okay to indulge sometimes. As is so often the case, the secret lies in the dose and frequency...
