I was about twenty-one when I watched this enjoyable crime movie. I said enjoyable because I saw a Hollywood crime movie for the first time during my engineering college days.

I am not sure how many of you have seen it or if this movie is known to the younger generation. I' watched it with several friends, and every one of them was lost in its theme.

If I remember right, it was a movie in a series with the same cast and theme, and every time these seven guys did something unique and almost succeeded in their criminal act until they got caught in the end.

I always felt that the director of the movie brought the plot out of the box and picturized it in a way that seemed original, and most of the time, these seven guys were after a big robbery and failed just when it felt they were going to get away with the booty.

If I remember right, these seven hilariously funny people came out of prison for a perfectly planned robbery, even in that age where the method and equipment they used were out of my wildest imagination.

Their modus operandi was to break out of jail, commit the robbery, and go back into jail before anyone knew the entire scenario, so one would not know who committed the crime.

It's not that it was the only movie I saw with such a plot, but I have seen a similar movie later, and if I remember right, it was "Who's Minding the Mint?" In this movie, another group of prisoners manages to come out of jail and print bank notes during a football match. Incidentally, this movie also had seven characters. But I prefer Seven Times Seven for the end of this movie.

I always felt the actors in the movie were perfect, and they did wonders for all seven of them, even if they did not succeed in the end. I must say that what kept me spellbound for the entire duration of the movie came to a shocking end in the last five minutes, and that was probably the master stroke of the director. And the funniest was when one of the seven requested to be taken back to prison.

I wish they made more movies like Seven Times Seven with as much imagination and perfection that kept the audience spellbound. I have stopped watching movies in the theatre, but if a movie produces something as enjoyable as Seven Times, I will go watch it in a cinema hall.
