This story is not based on unreall events, the place is located on the old road between Caracas and La Guaira (Venezuela) and was conceived around the 50's. Photography was something I had to improvise because I didn't have it with me.
Looking at old photos that my aunt had left at home before she died I found one that caught my attention. It was of a bridge (similar to the one in the photograph), which has been there for a long time on the old Caracas-La Guaira highway, set apart on the road where the villagers used to go a long time ago. The people who used to pass by there told that around that bridge there used to be great feasts, when they celebrated the town's birthday. They say that in one of those parties, while people were dancing, singing and getting drunk, one of the richest men of the place came running and climbed on the highest part of the bridge and without saying a single word, He jumped and fell into the most wooded part of the place at that time.
Everyone screamed, the music stopped, the women and children cried and the men (those who were still sober), began to search among the bushes and grass on that moonlit night for the remains of the unfortunate man. The feast had come to an end. All those who were celebrating returned home, leaving behind those who had given themselves to the task of searching together with the authorities. Soon the morning came and with it the strangest news, the body of the deceased had not been found.
And as everything happens in life, time passed without people ever again daring to look at that place full of mystery and death. Since then, stories began to be woven around that event in which those who told them said that whoever dared to pass by there, the "Spirit of the man on the bridge " could take his body and take over his life, in the same way that his own had gone. Many claim to have seen the figure of a man going up to the bridge but do not see him coming down from it and at night they believe they hear moans as of someone badly wounded, coming from the bush. My grandmother used to say, "You will never know what really happened, you just have to remember that if you ever pass by the old road, don't travel over that bridge:.."

Your story is mysterious but I have heard similar stories about different places. Some are even known as suicidal points. There is one such place in right in our capital which has now been closed.
