— Let's go, get ready.
Roberto, always playing that game, you forget about everyone around you.
— Come on, my family is waiting for us! And you know how they are about time.
— Roberto: Well, I don’t really like going to your parents' house, you know.
— Agustina: It's because you don't love me and you don't respect me, they're my parents.
— Roberto: Fine, I’ll go, wait, I’ll take a shower, I’ll change.
So, he proceeds to turn on the shower, the water falls on him, he takes the soap, spreads it, then rinses off, finishes, gets out, dries himself, changes, and doesn’t really pay much attention to what he’s putting on. He dresses, and she, in a hurry, doesn’t even look at him.
— Agustina: And then you say the magic words: "Aren't you ashamed of yourself?"
— Roberto: You offend me, that’s why I don’t like coming. Look at what you’re saying to me.
They arrive. The mother-in-law opens the door and looks at Roberto from head to toe. She spots a stain on his shirt, makes a surprised face. Carmina and the daughter blush with embarrassment. She walks over and tells her daughter in secret to change into her dad’s shirt. Then she tells Roberto: "Change your shirt." He goes and changes it.
That afternoon, the air was thick with tension, sharp as a double-edged knife. Few words and almost nothing to say. Then, after dinner, they leave, and she says to him:
— Agustina: How embarrassing you are, you don’t pay attention to anything. I’m tired of you, so it’s over. You’re always rude to my family, and that shows me that you don’t love me.
She leaves him without another word and walks away. He’s left stunned and starts calling her, but she doesn’t answer. That night, he feels a strong pang in his chest, a wave of tears, and from that moment on, he could never recover from losing his wife.
