Thought about participating here and there, but somehow time kept flying by and nothing ever came of it. Had to force myself to do it, which is weird because I've been writing a lot actually.

Definitely! But you also need to force yourself into action sometimes, because life will pass you by. All that stuff about days turning into weeks, weeks turning into months, and so on. Before you know it you'll be forty and start wondering about all those missing years. Then you realize you've been waiting for the perfect wave while paddling stagnant waters.
I'm not the biggest fan of pulling on grass to make it grow faster, for a lack of a better analogy, but then I feel like I've been expecting that mud pit called imagination to turn into a garden by itself. Sure, something is bound to happen eventually, but I'm running out of time. I don't know much about Muses, divine sparks, or getting blown by the Prom Queen. Stranger things have happened, but I've been waiting for that phone to ring for more than a decade and it's time to move on.
Don't get me wrong, I'm quite the romantic myself, but chances are the Muse won't just send you a hand-written invitation. Like, come on over and grab a tiddy, if you may. Doesn't mean you should force yourself upon her either, I'm err... That's where the analogies falls apart, but I'm just saying.
