Welcome Steemians, friends, Earthlings, Country - beings
After thinking about what passes as proper ways to address people in the COVID-19 affects the brain world I came up with this. Then my Sartian Dragon Trainer, Bubbligoob... Or Big Bee as she is known as went on strike. The Humble members of the heavenly voiced complaints so:
Welcome Steemians, Friends, Universalites, and Hicks
Is everyone satisfied?
Thinking of new and unique content to create is tough. It's hard. It's luck. It's inspiration but where does it come from.
In this story, I hope the inspiration was my mother working with neighbors and their children and my siblings and the joke was supposed to be on me. If this was not a group joke on me, it really says a lot about humanity and how... Well you're intelligent people and have ever heard of something like this happening? What if the history of humanity is full of incidents like this?
One can hope and if there is actually a UFO there?
It was night and 8:00 pm or so and the sky was clear.
We came out of our house my mother, my four siblings and me. We met two other mothers and their children in the bottom of the court, a big group.
There were greetings and chatting. Then, we began to walk in an easterly direction towards the south corner of the street to turn right and -
"There's a UFO!" Somebody said in the light of porch lights and a street light a hundred feet away. It was somewhat dark.
"Where? Where?" A growing chorus asked and someone pointed up into the sky.
Then began a chorus that grew, "I see it," or "Me too".
I looked and looked and said, "I don't see it."
Everyone pointed and said things like, "It's there (And huge, a white light, a flying saucer, just sitting there in the sky."
My eyes were about as high as my Mom's shoulder at her neck and so I said, "Mom let me look down your arm when you point to the UFO."
Her face looked serious that it was a flying saucer in the light of the full moon but she said, "Okay."
I looked down her shoulder and her arm, her finger, while everyone else talked about the white flying saucer, the UFO, the younger kids were jumping up and down, I didn't see anything but the full moon, asked questions. Some people said I was stupid, like my sister, and then I said,
"It's the full moon!"
My Mom looked at it, down her finger, after a few seconds began to giggle, and said,
*Yes, I guess that is the Moon."
The other women disagreed at first but, there was a ton of laughter while we walked to a block party the next street over.
That court was longer than ours, the one on which we lived.
As we entered the party some of the kids said, "We thought we saw a flying saucer."
There were two street lights in that Court and some yard lights so it was bright enough to the red of embarrassment on the faces of three mothers.
The neighbors brought that incident up as a neighborhood joke for almost a decade of chuckles.
The Image is a 3D DirectX 12 Marble not the Moon but at least it's mine.
I remember once riding down the street with my stepmom, and I saw what I thought was the best-looking golden moon on the horizon. She laughed at me as she knew, and I saw, when we got closer, that it was a golden skillet (chicken restaurant similar to KFC)) sign, lol. Thanks for the chuckle.
