The Evolution of the Primitive tool "fistwedge"

Today as our focus of study we would like to follow the progression and evolution of the ancient tool "fistwedge" said to have been used by primitive man eons ago.

Long, long ago before civilization as we know it, I use that word civilization in a very broad sense, at least before the time of machinery when the creatures inhabiting the earth were not so complicated as they are now, it is believed they used a primitive tool called a fist wedge. This tool was used to break up pieces of wood and if it came to it to break the head of an aggressor.

As time progressed and so did the ingenuity of the people, there were some improvements to the tool. A handle was attached to allow for leverage. But the same basic function was there, break up pieces of wood and if it came to it to break the head of an aggressor.

As we approach modern times a significant modification of the tool emerged. This tool was used to break up the chains of bondage to a system of government that was no longer practical and light the way to peaceful cooperation.

And just recently the basic design has morphed once again according to time place and circumstance to what we now recognize as a "fistwedge" It is used to fight off hunger pains especially late at night.

Actually frightening: almost every harmless, useful thing can also be misused as a weapon... On the other hand, we owe many really useful inventions to the development by the military. Crazy world!

Yes. You're observation is right on. In this world of birth and death... there are dualities everywhere. Happy/sad, good/bad, right/wrong... A game of sorts. Stay safe.

Dear @jiva34

I'm glad to read your post, it was very enlightening for me, as well as entertaining. I assure you that I was looking for a Spanish translation of the word of the week, and none of them fit me.
Now I understand, I knew it then as "flint", "flint axe" and "fist axe".

I really breathed. I was struggling with my story, but I think I came up with something interesting.

Again, friend, thank you very much for opening my eyes to know what it is: "fistwedge".
