The ice age, a time of frozen grace,
A distant memory, yet still so profound,
A chapter in Earth's history we trace,
When glaciers reigned and icy lands abound.
Nature's forces came together in sync,
A perfect storm that left a frozen mark,
A planet in transition on the brink,
As ancient life was forced to leave its mark.
From shifting currents deep beneath the sea,
To changes in our orbit in the sky,
Nature conspired to set the glaciers free,
And watch as ancient landscapes start to die.
Yet even as the ice age fades away,
Its legacy endures in every way.
For through its changing climates and terrain,
The ice age shaped the world that we maintain.
It taught us how to adapt and survive,
To persevere through times of cold and strife.
And though the glaciers now may be no more,
Their echoes resonate from shore to shore.
So let us learn from what the ice age gave,
And strive to be good stewards of the wave.
For though it's long since passed into the night,
Its lessons linger on, a guiding light.

I like the whole timbre and emotion of this poem,
and I cited above the one line that I gusted most.
"Nature conspired"...!
At its surface, this metaphoric sentence may sound questionable, but I think, in greater deep, it can help to think about human hybris.
