A Suicide

For Kelvin, there were times when he felt completely hopeless and drained. Like he wasn't doing enough and just not the right person to achieve his dreams.

Doubt was eating him up and his fears were clawing unto the last strand of hope he had left.

He no longer believed besides his very own birth parents didn't want him so why would some magical, fictional, all powerful father still keep holding onto him.

And in times like these, he just wanted to be free. To be free of all of it and the easiest way to get that freedom was finally being rid of the world. Finally being rid of his very own life.

Returning back to his hostel that evening, this thought stuck strongly with him. So strongly that it was impossible to resist. It felt almost like his only choice. To end it all and be free of all the burdens of life.

He sat quietly in the bus, carefully plotting the perfect suicide scheme when the other fellow sitting just beside him patted him on the shoulder and said;

"Calm down Chief, this life na everybody. No be only you get problem. No go kill yourself eh" He laughed heartily

He was only jesting at the solemn expression kelvin had on earlier but only if he knew his words meant so much more.

Only if he knew that his simple and random action to cheer the sulking boy beside him that day had saved a life.

Very successful text that opens the door to many questions...: Is a life saved only if death is prevented? Is life itself more important than its quality? Is it only conceivable that one wants to end one's life out of despair? Or could other reasons be conceivable...? Thank you!
