Kira And Kara

Who doesn't love seeing twins? Similar faces, wearing the same clothes and often laughing together, do look cute and adorable. Every time I walk with Kira and Kara, I am often greeted by people just to ask, "Are you twins? Cute huh!" then they will pay attention to Kira and Kara's behavior. But what are twins really like?

Kira and Kara were born as identical twins. They shared a placenta and DNA since they were in the womb. If anyone thinks that identical twins are children who will be all the same, this is not the case with Kira and Kara. Kira and Kara have different characteristics, even very different. Because in reality there are no two individuals who are always the same.

Kara, the first born twin, has a smaller body shape but is more agile. Kara is a petite girl who loves all things princess, pink and flowery. She also looks more cheerful, expressive and poetic. One morning when she woke up she opened the bedroom door and exclaimed "Oh, it's beautiful, there's sun!". Although she always wants to look like a princess, Kara also loves adventure, climbing up and down fences, playing flying fox, running tirelessly.

Talking about Kira, it's like telling me about my father-in-law. Kira's face and personality are very similar to her father-in-law: open, easy to make friends, and gentle in character. She can't let her little sister cry when bullied by friends. Kira is also a child who looks calmer and doesn't talk much. However, she is a very clever child and a smart negotiator. It's easy for her to get what she wants without having to grab or force. Kira never runs out of naughty and creative ideas, her hobby is painting. Her favorite clothes are black t-shirts. Kira, who loves all things robot and superhero, has a heart that is very easily touched. She can cry when she sees her superhero has no siblings or looks alone without friends. Like when watching Finding Nemo when Nemo was separated from his father, Kira refused to continue watching the film. Although Kira has a bigger body, she tends to be a fearful child.

Because each of them has a very different nature, I no longer dress them in the same clothes. They can choose clothes according to their own taste. It's just that we already have an agreement that Kira wears a skirt when going to school, when going to parties and invitations. Besides that, she is free to wear her favorite t-shirts and shorts. Likewise, Kara is free to wear her princess and flower clothes anytime, except when we play outdoors or at playland. When playing at playland, Kara wears pants to free her to run around without worrying about her skirt lace getting caught.

Just different characters and tastes in clothes? The tastes of these two twin girls are also different. If Kira likes food that is not soupy, Kara actually really likes soup and warm soupy food. Kara likes boiled eggs, while Kira likes fried eggs, either omelettes or sunny side up. It is easy for Kara to try new foods, but it takes extra effort and struggle to convince Kira to try new foods. However, both of them like tempeh and satay. To overcome these two different tastes, I always apply alternating menus. If today I cook Kira's favorite food, then tomorrow I cook Kara's favorite menu. That way they don't limit themselves to only eating their favorite foods. Besides, I definitely save on cooking energy.

That's how these twin girls grew up with different characters, traits and tastes that were not always the same. Did their very different traits make them often fight? In fact, they played together and devised strategies. Their different traits seemed to be born to complement each other. If Kara had to pee while her mother was still busy in the kitchen, Kira would quickly open the bathroom door because she had a taller and stronger body posture. When Kira's toy got stuck on top of the cupboard, Kara was the one who nimbly climbed the bookshelf step to help get it. Even now the bookshelf collapsed because Kara often climbed on it. They also had no trouble sharing toys because their preferences were different. Kara had chosen pink toys, other colors were Kira's share. Princess books were Kara's favorites, superhero books were Kira's. If one of them got angry with her mother, the other child would coax her mother to stop being angry.

However, that doesn't mean they never fight at all. Two individuals of the same age certainly have almost the same interests. Not infrequently they also have conflicts of interest. Like when both of them are in a hurry to go for a walk with their father, both of them want to be helped to put on sandals together without wanting to take turns. Of course at times like that the atmosphere at home becomes more lively and lively with the sound of Kira Kara crying.

What happened in my family with the twins, is not necessarily the same as the story of twins in other families. There is always a different story in every parenting style. Talking about children will never end. What is the story of Urban Mama with her children? Of course it is no less unique and adorable..!!
