A Dream Steem Story - No Pharaoh

Not bad, he thought as he knocked on the box. The material was of good quality. It would last till eternity. He complimented the craftsman who had made his second skin.

He prayed the painters he'd choose would not ruin his appearance. Every day he walked impatiently up and down to the workshop where the finishing touches were painted on the wood. The makeup artist faithfully followed the young man, after all, he was the one who best knew the true looks of the vain heir to the throne.

Is there enough room for me and my treasures, the young man asked worriedly. He gestured to the two slaves who hurried over with the basket in which their master had placed his most valuable belongings for the afterlife.

The painters stepped back hastily and bowed deeply to the young god, praying that he was pleased with their art.
The would-be pharaoh breathed a sigh of relief.
He was very satisfied with the performance of the two painters who did not dare to look him in the eye.

He waved them goodbye without losing his coffin to the afterlife out of eyesight

They hurriedly packed their painting supplies, happy that they were not deprived of their lives like their colleagues by Pharaoh.

He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh. This was life. Alone at last, he could hear himself think for the first time. His decision was made, he would spend the rest of his earthly life right where he was until it was time to travel to the other world, no way he would be the next pharaoh.
