What is bandwidth in blockchain? Explain in your own words. |
---|
Bandwidth is a most important term in cryptography and blockchain technology. In simple terms we can explain , it refers to the capacity or ability of a blockchain network to handle different transactions within particular network. Think about it as the network's data transmission rate.
Bandwidth is closely related to the concept of scalability, which is a network's ability to handle a large number of transactions simultaneously in blockchain . However, it is most important to keep note that bandwidth & scalability are two distinct things . Bandwidth specifically refers to the maximum amount of data's that can be processed on a particular blockchain within a specific timeframe.
Bandwidth is a key factor in determining how well a blockchain network do functions . It directly impacts the network's security and overall performance on the network . The bandwidth of a network depends on various factors such as the consensus protocols used in the blockchain and the infrastructure & functionalities of the network.
Steem Blockchain uses Resource Credits, explain how it works. |
---|
Resource Credits (RCs) work as digital signatures that enable users to engage in various activities on the platform, such as posting, commenting, voting, sending tokens, and it also include powering up Steem tokens. Think of RCs as network fees required to carry out transactions & actions on the platform. The amount of RCs consumed per activity depends on its complexity & the network resources utilized. This system ensures that users can actively participate on the Steemit blockchain while maintaining the platform's reliability, validity, & preventing misuse.
RCs are closely tied to a user's Steem stacking . Steem skacking determines the amount of RCs a user possesses. The more Steem Power a user has in their wallet , the greater their resource allocation, and vice versa. Users continuously utilize these credits in platform as long as they engage in activities on the platform. By implementing RCs, the platform aims to uphold its integrity, discourage misuse of its features, & provide users with a fair and reliable environment to interact and transact.
In essence, RCs act as a useful mechanism or to balance the network's resources and ensure that users can actively participate in various platform activities. By aligning RCs with a user's Steem Power, the platform incentivizes users to acquire & maintain a higher stake in the network, thereby promoting responsible usage and also preventing abuse. This system contributes to the overall stability and security of the Steemit platform , creating a trustworthy ecosystem for users to engage & transact with confidence.

Bandwidth is also a most important aspect that affects the smooth operation of any particular blockchain network. Simply put, it refers to the network's strengths to transfer & process a maximum amount of data at any given time. Alongside factors such as block size and the number of validating nodes in blockchain, bandwidth is instrumental in determining the scalability of a network. A higher bandwidth enables more efficient data transfer and processing, allowing the blockchain system to handle a larger volume of transactions and activities.
Furthermore, bandwidth plays a significant role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of a blockchain network. With ample bandwidth, the network can accommodate a greater number of participants, facilitating a diverse range of transactions and interactions. Additionally, the consensus protocols utilized by the blockchain and the underlying infrastructure and functionalities of the network contribute to determining its overall bandwidth capacity. By optimizing bandwidth allocation and continually improving network infrastructure, blockchain systems can enhance their performance, scalability, and overall user experience.

What is the difference between bandwidth and resource credit on the Steem blockchain? |
---|
On the Steemit blockchain, bandwidth and resource credits (RC) are two different concepts that play distinct roles in the functioning of the steem network.
Bandwidth in the context of the Steemit blockchain refers to the capacity of an account to perform transactions and interactions on the steemit network. It is measured in terms of the available network resources an account has for sending transactions, posting content, commenting on contents , and voting. Bandwidth is limited & replenishes over time, so it acts as a constraint on the frequency & volume of actions an account can perform within a certain period.
On the other hand, resource credits (RC) are a system introduced on the Steemit blockchain to allocate computational resources fairly among blockchain users. RCs are a measure of the computational jobs an account can perform, including activities such as processing transactions in it, generating blocks, and executing complex operations. RCs are not time-based & do not replenish over time like bandwidth. Instead of it , they accumulate over time based on the amount of Steem Power (SP) an account holds.
What is your available resource credit? Show the step by step and screenshots are required. |
---|
To check the resource credits (RC) status of your account, you can utilize the steemworld.org tool or the process . Once you open the tool interface , navigate to the homepage and click on the "Dashboard" option in the tool. This will access you to a page where you can access various account-related information, including your RC.
Look for the relevant section or indicator that displays your current (RC's) resource credits. It is important to note that resource credits gradually regenerate from time yo time, allowing you to perform more actions on the Steem blockchain. Monitoring your RC status helps us to manage our's account's resource usage & ensure our enough capacity for your desired activities.

Goodbye, friends. It's been a pleasure getting to know you all participating in this community. I will miss interacting with all of you, but it is time for me to move on. Take care & I hope to see you all again very soon , Best of Luck .
As the sun sets on the day
And the night falls softly in
We close this chapter, dear reader
But the story's not yet done
Tomorrow's pages wait, unwritten
INTRODUCTION
That's correct! Bandwidth on the Steemit blockchain indeed refers to the capacity or limit of an account to perform various actions on the network. Best of luck brother

Assalamu Alaikum dear brother you describe very well between the bandwidth and the resource credit and you describe very well why the bandwidth which has been replaced with resource credit and found more useful for different purposes on steemit. you show description of RC status step by step.
over all you are doing great job.
Good luck

Assalamualaikum khan bhai.
Umeed ha ap kheriyat sy hon gy. Acha, apny hamesha ki trha bohat achi entry share ki ha or me apki is topic par grift ko appreciate krta hun.
Resource credits aisy units hoty hain jo k kisi kism ki transaction like comment, post, vote, etc me use hoty hain or with the passage of time, ye credits reload hoty rehty hain.
Ye bilkul thek bat ha k resource credits k wajood sy Blockchain ki scalability improve hoti ha. Me apki kamyabi ki dua krta hun. Good luck 🤞
