INTRODUCTION
I haven’t really had a clear crypto portfolio. From the lesson by professor @yohan2on, it’s clear that a portfolio is really important. Below, I have completed the task given by the professor.
I invested in 6 coins for over 30 hours. I’m going to mention the coins before going to the results of my investment.
Bitcoin
As the professor stated, we need to consider a major coin in our investment portfolio. Well I decided to go for the big boy, BTC. As the first official cryptocurrency, BTC is a driving force in the market. Even if other coins come and go, this one is here to stay. That makes it a safe investment.
With the recent fall in the price of BTC, I had to buy it before it got to $60k again. I didn’t quite get the best entry point but I got in. I got in at $54279 with &13.
Aelf (ELF)
After discovering this coin, I’ve always had my eye on it. With a very dedicated team of experts behind the project, ELF has been performing well. With a circulating supply of 544 million, this coins caught my eye really easily. I would describe ELF as a blockchain of blockchains because the project is gilded to help blockchain developers. I initially invested in it before it boomed back in the middle of April. For this assignment, I bought a worth of $9.69 at the price of $0.4386.
BitTorrent (BTT)
A product of the Tron Foundation, BTT has a lot of sentiments around it. Being a hot token in a major exchange like binance, BTT seems promising. I initially bought the coin back in Easter after I saw it test a resistance. My investment, then, doubled and I took profit after it started to drop. Digging deeper on the project, I decided to add it to my portfolio again as a passive income coin. For this assignment, I bought 1426 BTT with $10 at $0.0070113.
Doge
The doge coin is a clear evidence that anything is possible. From a social media meme, the doge coin has seen massive growth since the year began. After overtaking trx in my list, I knew I had to get this coin in the assignment. I saw the doge coin graph and it looked like it was about to break a resistance so I quickly moved in. I bought 34 doge coins for $11 at $0.3163 for one.
Everex (EVX)
Yet another coin in my investment list. While looking for coins with low supply to invest in back in March, I came upon EVX. With a supply of 25 million, I have had this feeling that EVX will be like Bitcoin someday. I might be wrong but it wouldn’t hurt to invest in a small amount now. After seeing the All time High at $7, I have a good feeling about the coin. I bought 7.993 EVX for $9.76 at a price of $1.184617 which I felt was a good position.
USDT
So with all the investments, I had to protect myself with a stablecoin. USDT has had a lot of fluctuations in that past weeks. But it has always returned to that $1 value. I went ahead to get 9.88USDT at $9.88.
My portfolio
Keeping track of these investments was the greatest hurdle for me. I tried blockfolio, Delta and even the coin stats app but they all had bugs. So I decided to input my investments manually on CoinMarketCap.
The coins on Binance
CoinMarketCap portfolio
As you can see, all my coins did well increasing in value from the time of investment. Doge did the most with a 12.38% increase. My overall gain is a 2.91% increase. Not bad if you ask me.
At the time of my investment, my portfolio as worth $63.73.
At the time of writing this post, the portfolio was worth $67.02. Although I’m not satisfied with the results, I’m happy that I gained a little experience with a close portfolio watch.
CONCLUSION
This task was very practical. It was thrilling making the investments and watching them grow. The idea of a crypto portfolio is genius and I would continue to implement it.
Special thanks to @yohan2on
