Question 1 - Do you think the Metaverse is "the next level of Future Technology"? Explain your personal opinion by showing some evidence

In my opinion, Metaverse is definitely the next future of technology. Metaverse is basically a virtual universe that gives people the ability to interact with other people and other virtual objects in a completely virtual universe. Technology has become very advanced in recent times and is continuing to grow and become better and better. Metaverse isn’t a new term as it has been in existence for long, however, it is the new wave of technology that became very popular not long ago after the founder of Facebook a Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company behind facebook and other social media products are rebranding to meta. This news raised a lot of talking points as to whether the metaverse is the next level of technology.

The reason why I think Metaverse is the next level of future technology is that so many things will be done digitally in the near future and the Metaverse is non other than a digital world. We have seen the massive growth in a lot of digital services like ZOOM for instance especially during the covid-19 period. It allowed people to still do their work, have meetings, hold conferences and even concerts online without the issue of proximity restrictions. Aside from that, in the gaming industry, we have seen the massive increase in online gaming where players are able to play with each other online without being present in the same physical location.

Metaverse aims to bring all the digital goodness together and take it to a whole new level. In the metaverse world, people can be able to play games with other people in different parts of the world with a feeling of being physically present. People can do their everyday work in the metaverse from their home and still have the same feeling of being physically present in the office. People can hold meetings, conferences, events, concerts in the metaverse while still having the feeling of being physically present.

The metaverse will work like the way the world works but instead it becomes virtual. People will be able to do what they do in the real world in the metaverse and will open a whole new level of experiences for people. In the metaverse, people can decide to travel to any country of their choice and experience the environment virtually without needing to physically travel to those countries. The metaverse will play a key role in the way people socialize and interact with one another. We all know that social media has become a huge part of our everyday life that a lot of people cannot do without social media. In fact, social media has become so important that a lot of businesses heavily depend on social media for its operations.

With the metaverse, social media will be taken to a whole new level. Smartphones have become a norm now that almost everyone has a smartphone. Metaverse will allow people to socialize with other people in a completely virtual world without needing to use their smartphones, instead, a virtual reality device that connects to the metaverse and allow people to have an almost realistic social experience digitally.

Question 2 - Explain why Metaverse and Blockchain are compatible technology pairs

In my opinion, metaverse and blockchain technology are compatible. Blockchain technology is such an advanced technology that it can be used in any industry and sector seamlessly to provide solutions and bring about improvements. We call know that anything that is digital has drawbacks and blockchain technology can be used to mitigate some of the major drawbacks. The internet of things and blockchain is a clear example of how blockchain technology can be used to solve some of the problems associated with the internet of things. In metaverse, blockchain can also be used to provide solutions to some of the main problems that comes with the digital space.

Since the metaverse is basically the virtual-reality side of the real world, there are some problems or challenges that are associated with it. This is where blockchain can come into play to provide solutions to some of the problems and challenges that comes with the metaverse.

Blockchain technology can be used to store all the activities of all people in the metaverse which provides security. Imagine a situation where transactions are made in the metaverse and there is no record, either of the party involved in the transaction can deny. The blockchain can be used to prevent this as all the activities in the metaverse can be store on the blockchain. Since the blockchain is immutable and cannot be altered, it increases trust and ensures security.

Blockchain technology alongside cryptocurrency can be used as the digital currency in the metaverse. Like the way physical money work, the metaverse will also have digital currencies that allows people to purchase items, digital services, digital goods, digital products and more in the metaverse. Cryptocurrency can be used as the digital currency in the metaverse for secure payments, immutability, security, transparency and other benefits that cryptocurrency and blockchain provides.
