A brief introduction about yourself, including what country you live in, and your knowledge and experience in the crypto world (no more than 250 words)

My name is Damilola Oluwole with the steemit username @damzxyno. I am a writer, blogger, and amateur programmer with experience using JAVA, KOTLIN, HTML, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, and CSS. I live in Lagos, Nigeria, which is the most populous city in Africa. I speak English fluently, in addition to Yoruba and Igbo, which are two of the indigenous languages of my country.

I have been on steemit platform for 4 years now. Before joining Steemit, I had some experience holding major coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Doge Coin in my wallets. Today, driven majorly by the exposure I have gained on the steemit platform, I possess a larger knowledge base about the crypto space, particularly about price speculation, the use of technical Indicators, fundamental analysis and general trading rules. I also have sufficient experience with DApps, decentralized finance and popular crypto projects. I have been involved in different airdrops, and also play crypto games such as splinterland and prospectors.

A summary of your experience on Steem and in the Crypto Academy (no more than 250 words)

I was introduced to the Steemit platform in August 2017 by @valchiz. In my four years of using the platform, I have also introduced a number of users to Steemit, a good number of whom are still actively blogging on the platform. When I created my account in 2017, I posted my introductory post, and immediately afterwards I began to write mainly science related articles under the SteemStem, AirClinic and Science tags. I also posted pieces of poetry and works of fiction under different tags. I have explored every part of the Steem blockchain including tools such as steemdb.io, steemworld.org and steemscan.

I currently have 512 followers engaging with 646 posts on the Steemit platform.

I joined the Steemit Crypto Academy a few months ago. I have attempted different assignments by different professors and I have always achieved good grades. At certain times, I was rewarded as the best student of the week.

A description of why you think you would be suitable to become a Steemit Crypto Promoter, and what other social platforms you actively use (no more than 250 words)

I believe I would be a suitable Steemit Crypto Promoter because I have undergone trainings in sales and marketing. I also participated in promoting brands and ideas during my undergraduate years. These engagements built up my experience and skills of successfully convincing people to buy into, and share, an idea.

I have proficient knowledge in graphic designing and video editing using modern applications such as Microsoft Powerpoint. I am also a prolific public speaker.

I run active accounts on Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Discord with an impressive followership that adds up to the thousands across these platforms. I am also working to expand my influence on these platforms to reach a much wider audience. In addition to the platforms listed above, I also use Tiktok, Whatsapp and Clubhouse, a fast rising audio social audio app.

The reach afforded me by the number of followers I possess across all these platforms means that I will be an ideal promoter for Steemit, as I will be able to get out messages to a large number of people in a short period of time.

An outline with initial ideas of how and where you would promote the Crypto Academy (no more than 250 words)

I have a three-step promotion strategy which I plan to use. I call it the an awareness-mentorship-final guidance three step approach.

Awareness
The first stage is getting people know about the existence of the steemit blockchain; the history of Steemit, DApp platform, Communities (especially the newcomers's community and Steemit Crypto Academy), Steem Wallet, Steem, SBD, Log-in Keys.

To be successful in promoting a brand or idea, the promoter needs to have a target audience and understand them well. In spite of the fact that my message would be available to the global community, my messages will be tailored specifically towards an African target audience. The major social media applications used in Africa are Tiktok, WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook. I am working on increasing my followership so as to get the message of Steemit out to as many people as possible in a short a period of time. I intend to create awareness by posting detailed videos, write-ups, banners and fliers.

I also plan to host physical workshops and seminars as this is a very (the most) effective way of engaging with Africans. My age group target are people within the range of 18 and 40. Science proves that people within this age range are the most productive as they can help propagate an idea or build up a start-up more effectively. Most of my physical meeting will be on the campuses of universities, colleges and polytechnics within Nigeria, the most populous African nation and a few surrounding countries like Ghana and Benin Republic.

Finally in making more people aware about Steemit and Steemit Crypto Academy, I plan to engage secular and crypto bloggers and get them to put up more posts speaking about the Steemit platform.

Mentorship
Following up on the awareness stage, the mentorship plan for my new Steemit users is to have direct social media communication with them alongside one-on-one (physical) mentoring sessions. After their initial exposure to the platform and my walking them through the steps of creating a new account and protecting steemit keys, I would guide them individually through the platform and the newcomers' tasks until they are ready for their first crypto Academy projects. I would also make articles, videos and memes which will serve as learning aids for this phase. I will also mentor new Steemit users on how to build up Steem power and reputation so they can attempt the Steemit Crypto Academy tasks.

Guidance
This is the final step in my three-step approach to promoting Steemit and Steemit crypto academy. It is an extension of the mentorship step but has been separated because it will be a continuous, long-term effort. At this point, the new users would be ready for their first Steemit Academy task (which they would have been briefly exposed to during the awareness step of the campaign). This time however, they would be thoroughly exposed to the operations of the community. This step ends the promotion efforts for a particular new user, with the end result being that the said user must have been graded on his first crypto academy homework.

Conclusion

I would be glad if my application is considered. I definitely would be a fervent and hardworking promoter of the Steemit community. I would work to produce weekly reports of my activities, the amount of new users and their individual progress, all in line with the requirements posted in the job announcement.
