Hi esteemed members of SteemitCryptoAcademy hope you are doing good, i am also blessed and feeling honored while taking part another wonderful contest organzied by community hence the topic is Steemit Crypto Academy Contest / S10W3 - Reward System on Steemit Blockchain. Here is my participation.

Does the attribution of rewards on steemit follow the same convergent linear reward curve since its creation or has it undergone some modifications? If yes, talk about the causes of this change?

The rewards attribution system on steemt didn't remained the same it undergo certain modifications, the most profound changes are Quadratic Linear Reward, Transition to Linear Reward and Convergent Linear Reward.

As the beginning of steemit platform launched in 2016 initially the quadratic Linear reward system was used. How this reward system?, it based on this equation(x) = x^2.

I will simplify this equation for more understanding as follow the steem power directly proportional to earning. The more steem power the more a user can get earning on steemit.

Now what were Limitations to this reward system?, infact it was beneficial for whom who had more sp while failed to support the users with less ap or whom who were newly working on steemit platform. So, definitely it was not favorable for all users working on steemit.

In order to overcome the above mentioned issues in 2017 and other reward system was launched which is called transition to Linear Reward.

It mean the there is equal chances of reward to users through votes or curation nevertheless the amount of sp. However still there were few limitations observed in this reward system such as the there was unbalanced use of self-vote was more frequent and the moreover it neglect the quality contents too.

As there were still limitations in order to overvome convergent Linear Reward was introduced in 2019, which is found one of the most acceptable reward system and still working on steemit blockchain system. It based on this equation f(x) = x^2 / (x+1).

It means the user working on steemit can get reward not only on the basis of sp but also the engagment with others posts. This reward system is basically worked on the principle of proof of brain in which the quality posts are supported.

With the launch of convergent Linear Reward all the limitations were overcome and the more better system for reward is working on steemit platform.

Causes of this change?

There were certain limitations which was not needed at steemit platform in order to eliminate all these issues a more appropriate reward system was launched in 2019 which is still applicable.

• Quadratic Linear Reward:

As a mentioned about the quadratic linear reward system it was based on the amount of steem power more the user have steem power more it as a chance to earning; so this was really unfair system because only the users with high steem power were got benefited while the others failed to get rewards as having lower sp. this reward system was not suitable due to this main limitation.

• Transition to Linear Reward:

The transition to linear reward model was able to overcome the above mentioned drawbacks as it give the equally chance to users to get support nevertheless how much steem power they have. Although it was observed that it disturbed the quality of contents and there was more self voting. but it was successfully reduce dominance of the users with high steem power.

• Convergent Linear Reward:

With the introduction of linear reward system it was most effective on the steemit blockchain platform and its still applicable, as it is based on the principle of proof of brain and its encourage the users which are more active and highly interect with others and chance to get more reward. Hence, this reward system favor the users with high quality contents.

Show the added value that brought it this convergent linear reward curve, and how this system is applied on Steemit Blockchain.

With the application of convergent linear reward system all the limitations were overcome which was disturbing the reward system on steemit blockchain system, few of these as as follows.

• It reduced the dominance of users with higher steem power.

• As the self voting was observed especially in the users with higher steem power, the convergent linear system overcome this issue.

• The Convergent Linear Reward system worked on the basis of proof of brain it encouraged the users with high quality posts.

• The users with more engagement and having more interaction with others post and definitely get more chance to growth of steemit platform.

What is the difference between isolated curation and community curation? What type of curation do you prefer for quality content in Steem Blockchain?

There are two types of curation system in steemit blockchain

• Isolated Curation
• Community Curation

1- Isolated Curation in this curation curator can select any post which he found best on the based of his own choice and can vote independently. It totally based on curator own choice he has right to vote post if he found it good enough to curate.

2- Community Curation

In this curation method the post is curated according to community guidelines and rules, any post which following roles id surely curated by communty account. The community curation worked not separate while certain number of people involved to form community. So it used collective community power to curated the desired post.

Although community curator worth more to the users as the anount of vote is more and can give better benefits to the users but i mostly do isolated curation and community curation has its own benefits , but i like and do isolated curation as i can curate any post which is knowledge based and users is doing engagement and interact with others more actively.

Does the community curation have only a financial contribution or other benefits, if so which ones?

There are different benefits of community curation. These are as follows.

• The most significant benefits of the community creation is the increased interaction of different users from different community and increased the growth of steemit platform.

• As there are certain rules of every community and it curated high quality contents, therefore it increaed the visibility of post more and more interaction can be seen on the posts.

• Passively the users reputation is increased by coummnity curation and he can grow more better on platform.

Overall, these are few benefits of community curation which definitely positive impact on users and also the steemit platform.
