Good day to you all, another great week and a very good assignment from prof @reminiscence01 and he talked about tokens and coins and now let's dive into the questions.

1)What do you understand by Token and give an example of at least 5 tokens and identify the blockchain it is built on. ( give at least 3 different Blockchains)

I am going to use a short story for clear understanding of a token. When we come to a mall, we see very shops inside the mall right. lets say these shops have their various payment methods but the mall in general on which these shops are located inside have a fixed payment all the shops pay through to them running the mall.

Now lets look at the mall as a blockchain and the shops as different projects built on the blockchain. The payment method which the mall expects from all these shops is what we call coins and then the individual shops payment methods they use for their shops is token

So we can say a token is a cryptocurrency unique to a project built on a blockchain, people often confuse these with coins which is the crypto currency native to a particular blockchain or from my story, the payment method the mall uses.
Some examples of some tokens and the blockchains they are built on are:

TokenBlockchain
TatcoinEtherum
DentEthereum
CakeBinance
BakeBinance
BittorrentTron

2)What is the difference between a token and a coin?

From the mall story we can actually identify some difference between tokens and coin and many more in the table below

Tokencoins
This is cryptocurrency not native to blockchains but rather projects on itThis refers to cryptocurrency native to a blockchain
Examples include:tatcoin, dent etcexample include:bnb,ether,trx
Serves as usage crypto for all activity regarding the particular projectsThis serves as payment crypto for all activities on the blockchain
They are easier to createThey are very hard to create
They can serve various functions from payment service to serving as owned shares in companiesThey serve only as payment tokens

3)Explain the different categories token listed below and explain its features.:Utility tokens,Security tokens,Equity tokens,Non-fungible token (NFT)

UTILITY TOKENS

Lets look at these tokens as a versatility tokens and project tokens. They are created by developers during the launch of a project with the aim of raising funds for the project. These tokens are auctioned off at a price to investors and these investors who bought the token to have some rights with regards to the project such as future decision making and also use it for payment of services within the project. It is quite important to note that these tokens are often released to the public during ICOs held by developers. The main aim these tokens were created for was to generate income for the continuation and full development of the project. The tokens can be exchanged for other tokens .Some examples of utility tokens are;Timicoin,BAT, GNT ,Sirin Labs Token,Golem.

SECURITY TOKENS

This is decentralized stock owning. These tokens are token that when owned one owns part of the project, the benefit of owning these tokens are the same with traditional stocks and these beenfit includes: part of profit earned by the project, part in decision making of the project moving forward. These security tokens can be seen as a way of signing decentralized contracts with contracts with companies that you buy these tokens from giving you a part of the project stocks or ownership . These tokens must pass what is known as howey test . Like all tokens , they can be swapped for other tokens .Examples of such tokens are:sia ,Bcap, science blockchain

EQUITY TOKENS

This is actually a branch of the traditional tokens i explained above. So they are like traditional stocks that are bought in form of these tokens They are often introduced to people through IPO(initial public offering) anad owning these tokens means you have part ownership of project and have a part in profit gotten from the project and also a part in decsision making , the major difference equity and secuirty tokens is that security tokens need to pass the howey test and they have to be verified by SEC and the regulations on secuirty tokens are more.Examples include:BFT, DAO,NEUFUND,ETC

NFT (Non-fungible token )

Firstly , when we talk of something being non-fungible, we are referring to something very unique that it cannot be exchanged for another. These tokens are used as ownership of duplicates of an original asset. Let me explain this with an art example.
Lets say you draw an art and you wish to auction this off or put this art on a blockchain, these art becomes an Nft and people who wish to own this nft can buy them up but tbey only get duplicates of the main art and own some rights such as being able to post and use the image as they wish .Examples include:chz, theta, mana, etc

FEATURES OF TOKEN

1.It is built on an already created blockchain

2.It is easier to create tokens than coin

3.They serve as native currency for different projects on a blockchain

4.It is decentralized

4)Make your own research and write extensively on any token you listed in question one. (Must include features of the token, the aim of the project, Use cases).
