Hello Everyone, How are you guys? I hope all of pur genius steemians and all our talented members of thai community will be form of the happiness and all are fine. My dear friends there is another new challenge of steemit crypto academy. And j am also here to participate in this challenge, this is a bit difficult topic for me but after tthe research and my learning i am able to write about this topic. Now i will tell you about the blocks of steemit platform.

What is the Genesis blockchain? Explain its meaning. Show screenshot of the Genesis block of the Steem blockchain.

My dear friends the steemit platform officially launced in March 23, 2016 and in this month they produced thier first block and that's first block is called genesis block, this is the very first block of steem blockchain, and other blocks are linked with this block like a big chain. The blocks of any blockchain are a very important part of it because the blockchain related data are stored in this blocks that we can see through thier different tools that is developed by thier developing team. On all blockchains thier all data are permanently stored in their blocks that they produced by every minutes or seconds.

Steemit is a crypto blockchain, where each block is attached to it's previous block to made a full chain. As i said that the genesis block is the very initial block of every block chain, so it is not connected to any old block, but all the new blocks are attached to genesis block and complete the chain. The Genesis block is also known as block 1 of that blockchain. Basically our steemit related data such as our transactions are stored in these blocks.

We can check our transactions or stored data through steemscan.com and steemdb.io and we can also see the genesis block of steem blockchain through steemworld that is developed by top steem witness. So now in the i will show you that how we can check the genesis block of Steem blockchain.

• STEP 1:

First of all, I opened the home page of Steemworld.org tool and clicked on the "Block Explorer" option, that is show in the third number of this page, as shown in this screenshot.

• STEP 2:

In this step, as I clicked on this Block Explorer option, a naw page is opened in front of me wherw a new box is showing. For knowing the very first block of steem blockchain I put 1 and confirmed it.

STEP 3:

In the final step, the genesis block opened, and it information are showing in front of me the first block of steem blockchain was created on 2016-03-24, and the time was 21:05:00, The screenshots shown all other information of this block including, block ID, previous ID, signing key, witness name, etc. are also mentioned in this.

And here this is another easy method of this process in which you can easily check the first block of steem blockchain through https://steemblockexplorer.com. Here it the screenshot.

But the steemworld is probably more best then this because they shows you all other information of this genesis block.

What is the last block produced? Determine the total time of the Steem blockchain, used the production date of the Genesis block and the production date of the last block.

Through using. steemyy tool we can see the all related information or production data of genesis block and then after our calculation we can determine the total time of steemit blockchain.

Now i will find the age of the Steem blockchain with the help of production data of the genesis block and the latest block, Here in the above screenshot you can see the most recent block produced on the steem blockchain is #77543960. So now i calculate the age of the Steem blockchain
Calculation:

=> 77,543,960 × 3 = 232,631,880 sec

=> 232,631,880 ÷ 60 sec = 3,877,198 mins

=> 3,877,198 ÷ 60 mins = 64, 619.9666 hours

=> 64, 619.9666 ÷ 24 = 2,692.4986 days

=> 2,692.4986 ÷ 365 = 7.37... years

Approximately Equal = 7.4 years

So now I will explain my method that how I got this number. First of all, I took the last produced block number, which was 77,543,960, and multiply with the in the creation time of every block that is 3 sec. Then i got total seconds, then converted these seconds into minutes, then minutes into hours, then the hours into days, and at final calculation the days converted into years, and then i got the Steem blockchain age, that is approximately near to 7.40 years.

Explain the downtime of a blockchain - why can it occur?

When the blockchain do not work properly then this time period is called the Downtime of blockchain. It can be a many various reasons that this can happen. The blockchain do not works properly as we expect it. It can be happening due to high traffic of peopls on blockchain. There are some reasons for happening this are mentioned in the bel

• New Updates & Developments on the blockchain which can be a cause of short time downtime for blockchain.

• High Level of peoples traffic can be a cause of happening downtime because sometimes many peopls are browsing steem blockchain but they can't reached out to steem website.

• Network Errors on blockchain can also be cause of happening downtime for steem blockchain.

• Security & Cyber Attacks Issues can be a cause ofit because when the blockchain needs some shutdown.

Here in the above i highlight some points which can be the cause of downtime in any crypto blockchain. And it can be a cause of short time downtime for steem blockchain.

Has the Steem blockchain experienced downtime? If it has presented downtime, explain, mentioning the cases.

Yes i am a old user of steem blockchain and in the past i saw that Steem blockchain has experienced some downtime and I have also experienced them. Sometimes i faced some different types of errors while posting and commenting on steem blockchain. The some of them are shown in the below.

About a year ago we faced some issues with posting and commenting on steem in which the posts were not upload on our profile and a very different error shown in the page of our profile as you see on the above screenshot.

And year ago we faced this issue when the comments and posts was not posting into steem and then our senior steemian discussed this issue with other countries fellows and confirmed it that other steemians were also facing this issue. Then we confirmed that all users was facing this issue. So, my dear friends these were some downtime that we experienced in the past.
