Introduction
It's a great pleasure writing again at the academy and I hope everyone is doing great today. Season 5 of the Steemit Crypto Academy has now ended and I believed a lot of students have acquired knowledge that has positively impacted them in the crypto ecosystem. For the last week of the season (Week 8), I presented a lecture on Dark Pools in Cryptocurrency and this piece of article would be used to give a summary of the homework task entries received.

Overview of Dark Pools in Cryptocurrency
Dark pools in other financial sector has been operating for some time before it was introduced to the crypto ecosystem. In the crypto space, dark pools are utilized for private trading of assets such that it's not associated with physical order book as seen in other crypto exchanges. The idea behind this in the crypto ecosystem is to enable users to carry out their trade at a predetermined price without being affected by other factors like slippage.
In dark pools, the trades carried out is termed block trades because it involves a large number of assets being traded using the platform which could be up to many grands/millions in USD or any currency you might think of, such that the trade is done in private with an invisible order book to outsiders and this helps to eliminate the fear traders might have developed seeing huge order placed on an exchange which could force them out of their positions. Enough on this, let's take a look at the observations as regards the entries received.
Observations
It's time to talk about a few things observed in the homework task entries received and see how the students have nailed or marred things. To discuss the observations, I will be discussing them in subheadings under this section. Let's get to it.
Originality
This is not a new context, we have been talking about this for quite some time and more emphasis would be made on it. The concept of Proof of Brain is not complete with diminishing originality, it is important your article contains only original content and if any borrowed part was used, it should be properly referenced. Some entries have used others' articles to develop theirs, the idea of the task is that you understand the lecture and are expected to make original content based on your understanding. Kindly take note of this, it is very important.
Proofreading
Proofreading has been one of the factors that dent students' entries in the academy while some take it seriously to ensure that their articles are free from any typographical errors, many still fall a victim to this dent. I received a few entries with typo errors even when they have written great stuff and this hindered them from making it to the top. So, you must pay attention to proofreading your articles a couple of times to ensure you are free from any typo error and that'd qualify you to hit the top spot. Kindly take note.
Quality of Analysis
The quality of analysis of your responses to the questions given is a very crucial part that contributes to making your content outstanding. Many of the homework task entries received have their responses shallow and as such, their marks in that section were affected. Aim at giving a proper analysis of your answers and not just a brief explanation of the context that lacks in-depth analysis. Week in week out, users that spend quality time producing articles that have properly explored the sections of the task end up being excellent and are likely to be the top articles for the week.
Impact of Block Trades on the Price of an Asset
This part is the twist of the task, I intentionally included it to see how far students have researched and what they have thought on their own as regards the impact of dark pool trades on the market of the asset. Many homework entries replied with what was given in the lecture as regards the impact of block trading on the price of an asset and the responses have been it does not affect the market of the asset, yes, that's students' response all through, only a few got the twist.
As much as that sounds as regards its impact on the market price, likewise, many questions are raised as regards if the trades carried out in dark pools are truly out of circulation or await another time to be injected again to manipulate the market.
The twist was actually in the conclusion of my lecture as seen above but many failed to notice it. If the dark pool trades don't have an impact on the price of the asset at the moment the trade was carried out, what do you think would happen in the future? Take, for instance, If a trader has exchanged his assets for fiat and is worth 50 million dollars using the dark pool, don't you think such a trader can come back in the future to inject this into any market of choice to engage small traders and later go towards the opposite direction which would force many traders out of their positions. I expect to see this in the entries but many didn't reason that way.
Statistics
The last week of season 5 under the lecture "Dark Pools in Cryptocurrency" received a total of 40 homework task entries and by my practice, I have reviewed all timely. See the performance of the entries received in the table below.

Thank you @steemkidss for your support on this article and also for the great work you are doing in your community reserving a spot for the next generation on the Steem blockchain. More grease to your elbow.
This will be great, I've always loved to impact lives through any medium within my reach (teaching, assisting on a task, and so on). An honor to impact the young ones on the Steem blockchain about basic crypto knowledge is something I will definitely embrace. I will use the academy's break to teach the Steem kids, I look forward to discussing with the Admin on proper arrangements. Thanks for the honor received.
