Advantages of NFT Games

1. Value Appreciation

Since the value of crypto is volatile, there is a chance that your gaming character would appreciate in value. Imagine gaining more money upon what you have invested just for playing a game and having fun. Meanwhile, it is obvious that no profit comes while playing other kinds of games that donnot use cryptography.

2. Unique Ownership

NFT as already known means non Fungible Token. Hence, the character which a person holds can not be seen, found or forged anywhere. This implies that if I posses an NFT game character, then I am the only person in the world with that particular character. This makes the user have this feeling of being powerful and also special since to have his game character, you have to buy it from him. Meanwhile in our regular kind of games let me take FIFA19 for example, if you have Ronaldo, in your game I also have Ronaldo in mine and so on. So, there is no uniqueness, no special feeling, everyone is just equal.

3. Data Record

NFT game records are stored on the Blockchain. Since we already know the Authenticity of the Blockchain, then the owner of any game character can not be afraid of losing vital records such as games progress, and even ownership authenticity. In our regular games that are offline, once the memory space is mistakly wiped out or gets currupted, then all game records will be lost.

Disadvantages of NFT games

1.Environmental Cost

A record that is being inputed into the Ethereum Blockchain surely consumes a voluminous amount of energy. So, if NFT games are being adopted more, it will in turn bring about more blockchain processing which will in turn continue to consume more energy and also affect the environment negatively. In our regular games, we need just our TV and console or our computers which donnot consume energy out of limit.

2. Lack of Thrill/Excitement

NFT games lack the thrill and excitements which the regular kinds of games bring. If I must be forward, I would say that NFT he's are boring. This could be as a result of low graphics or uninteresting storylines. If I want to spend my leisure time, I surely would want to invest it in games that would give me some thrill and excitement and keep me active as well. For NFT games, it seems like the major drive of the game is the reward that comes from it.

3. Difficulty in setting up

Since most game tokens can only be gotten from decentralised exchanges, it then makes it difficult for a regular gamer to asses the game tokens or even setup the game but when we consider our regular games like Need For Speed(NFS), then we can see that it's Installation process is more easier and can even be done without a manual.

The name of his NFT is “EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS.” and the NFT sold for an unimaginable price of $69.3 million. The NFT contains about 5,000 artworks of Beeple which he had made starting from the beginning of his career.

Nowadays, Jose Delbo is making good fortune by selling NFTs that are Wonder Woman Themed. He sold 914 of these NFTs for $1.85 million

Waves’ Ducks is a kind of unique NFT that offers alongside it's NFT collectors an extra
financial utility that supercedes it's stringent aesthetic appeal. This very feature has set them on a unique path from other traditional collectibles suc as Cryptokitties or even CryptoPunks.

Recently, it has been recorded that the waves NFT is the most expensive NFT game that doesn't run on the Ethereum network. The initial Waves Duck which is known as "Perfection" was sold at a whooping price of $1 million. In a space of one week of it's launching, there were already 5,000 ducks and Wave Ducks market cap then was over $10 million.

Game features

• The first users has the opportunity of collecting and also hatching EGG tokens. These EGG tokens could be bought on the Waves exchange. It can also be gotten as reward for completing some assignments in DeFi products that are Wave based. When these EGG tokens are hatched, then genesis Duck NFTs would be created.
The players can then
• Breed their ducks with other ducks so as to create new ducks.
• • Sell their ducks on the Secondary market of Waves as is permitted by the Waves smart contract
• Players can also stake their generated duck NFTs

Waves duck was developed by Sasha Ivanov. His first duck NFT was named Perfection and after the sales of this first work of his, he was then moved to officially release the duck NFTs which we all know today. The duck NFT was launched in April, 2016 and it's native token is called Waves.

Waves duck market price (at the time of writing) is $2,030 with a market capitalization of $89,136,288 and it is coin number #3431 on the coinmarketcap ranking.

While being interviewed by BeinCrypto, Sasha Ivanov had stated that his aim of creating the duck NFT is to make solutions and products that are Blockchain based to be easily reached by as so many willing users as possible.

CryptoBlades (skill)

CryptoBlades runs on the Binance Smart Chain as an NFT crafting game. It is basically an online game and to play the game, the players will need to visit the CryptoBlades official website. Players are offered sufficient weapons to enable them defeat their opponents and then get rewarded with SKILL tokens which will enable them to level up or even upgrade their characters in the game.

The Skill token is the token that can be used to purchase or upgrade characters and can be gotten as reward when ever your character wins a battle.

SKILL tokens price in coin market cap is $19.82 (at the time of Writing) with a market cap of $17,446,141 and is ranked coin number 802 on the coinmarketcap ranking.

Below are the steps to purchase SKILL token

Note that most of the game tokens are not available on centralized exchanges and so to purchase them, one will have to get to a decentralised exchange. Here the decentralised exchange I will use is PanCakeSwap

First, I had to fund my Binance account with BNB token. So I quickly deposit some steems and then make a quick convertion to BNB.

Next, I install Metamask for chrome.
How did I do that?

I search for Metamask extension on Google.
Upon opening the first link, I got this page in the screenshot. I click on add extension ( I had already clicked on add extension before taking this screenshot).

After adding the extension which took about 4 minuites, a new page opens. I click on get started and on the next page, I click on create wallet since I don't own a Metamask wallet yet

On the next page, I click on I agree

On the next page that opens, I am required to setup my password. After setting up the password, I click on create. On the next page, I watch the short video about seed phrase security and then a click on Next.

On the next page is my seed phrase. So I write it down somewhere safe to me and offline. Afterwards, I click on next. On the next page, I confirm the seed phrase that I had written down and then I click on confirm.

On the next page, I click on all done.
I have successfully created my Metamask wallet.

Next, I connect my Metamask wallet to Binance Smart Chain.
Afterwards, I then proceed to deposit BNB to my Metamask wallet using the wallet address as in the screenshot.

PancakeSwap

Next step I take is to head to the official Pancakeswap website. Next, I click on connect wallet at the top right corner of the screen. I choose to connect it with Metamask and chose BNB as my selected token. Next, I click on connect.
After the Metamask wallet has been connected, I click on Exchange and then I select SWAP. I want to swap BNB for SKILL token so I set my swap to fit.

5. Conclusions

NFT games are still in their growing state. With proper adjustment of the NFT games to suit people of different choices, NFT games could totally knock off all other games that are being played offline and have no monetary value. With the exploitation and expansion of the Blockchain technology, NFT games could become the next big thing because "there is a game for everyone".
