Public Chain

Reference

A decentralised platform that is available to the general public is known as a public chain. To put it another way, it is permission-less, which implies that anyone may join the platform, write material, and view it. A blockchain is a distributed ledger that uses blocks to organise and store transaction data. The public chain is a blockchain network that allows anyone to join the network at any time. In a public block chain, anybody has the ability to download and read data from the network, as well as write their own and participate in it. They are decentralisedd and dispersed open network. Participating in a public chain has no restrictions or stipulations. There is no third-party or Boss to govern and be in charge of others, and all users have equal power.

Public chain's characteristics

  • Their Nodes can be added and information can be downloaded by anyone.
  • It's a completely decentralised system.
Because all users appear anonymous in the system, a user cannot trace them
    .
  • Access to the public chain is unrestricted.

What will be the Advantages and Disadvantages of Public Chain?

Advantages

True decentralization:

One of the key draws for any public blockchain company is true decentralisation. The network's decentralised design allows each node in the system to have their own copy of the ledger, allowing information to be updated efficiently on the ledger. Furthermore, any of the members can easily access the stored information from anywhere in the world.

It's a Easy Access:

Anyone with a good internet connection can access a public blockchain and read, write, and transact information. As a result, the general network members are in charge of the chain.

Immutability:

In fact about it that anybody can connect to the network, write, and transact, no one has the authority to change or alter data on the blockchain; if this is attempted, the other nodes will notice it and the majority of members will reject it.

Improved Transparency:

Block chains are the next monetization system since they are transparent and no one has control over them. It was a significant step up from the central and federal banks, which had previously been in charge of transaction processing. Furthermore, you must pay a number of fees anytime you send money to someone in the traditional manner. Transparency is a property of the public chain. Everyone on the network has access to the data that has been stored as well as the history of transactions made by other users.

No Rules

It is free and open, with no defined rules directing or prohibiting users' participation in transactions or network usage. There are no specific regulations for the public blockchain in terms of network server usage. When it comes to designing this platform, you have no limitations.

Disadvantages

Higher Energy consumption:

In the public blockchain uses energy to maintain the network, as well as energy to generate blocks and access the network.

Slow Process :

The procedure is slow and inefficient since all nodes in the system must validate transactions before they can be recorded and kept in the blockchain.

Expensive :

In this process of producing blocks and confirming transactions necessitates the use of powerful computers and consumes a lot of energy. Obtaining the necessary energy and computers is costly.

High-crime area:

Because there is no one to regulate the system and it provides anonymity, it can be utilised by evil people and criminals to commit fraud and perform unlawful transactions.

Nature's anonymity:

Although this is beneficial in that it protects user identification, it is also harmful. When there is a scam, it is impossible to track down and identify the perpetrator.
