Tron Ecosystem - Steemit Crypto Academy Season 4 - Homework Post for Task 1

~INTRODUCTION~

Good day Steemians!

This is my entry for Task 1 of the Steemit Crypto Academy Season 4 Beginner's Course on Tron Ecosystem. It's going to be my last task. Yes, I decided to save the first for last. I'll also try to make it the best, and i really hope you do enjoy reading this task. I will be answering Question 1 of the homework task.

(1) What is TronLink and what is Tronscan? What are its uses? How do you verify a transaction status(including timestamp, resource consumption(bandwidth & energy), nos of confirmations) using Tronscan-- Examples, Screenshot? What are the different dApps can you explore using the TronLink wallet? Make a transaction(a micro-transaction) with Justswap or JustLend using TronLink wallet?Screenshot?

Before i begin answering this question i would like to introduce you to the Tron Ecosytem.

After the advent of Bitcoin in 2008, created by the anonymous superhero tech guy, Satoshi Nakamoto, cryptocurrencies have seen a lot of development and traction. From 2008, up till today, over 6,500 cryptocurrencies have been created, and cryptocurrencies, as a whole have a combined market cap of over 1 trillion USD. In 2013, Vitalik Buterin, a 19-year old programmer proposed the concept of Ethereum, a blockchain that could run smart contracts, and it was finally launched in 2015. This increased the interest of many in the world of cryptocurrency.

In 2017, Justin Sun founded the Tron Foundation, and in 2018, the mainnet of the Tron blockchain network was released, and all the formerly ERC-20 TRX tokens were migrated to the Tron blockchain. Since then, it has grown rapidly due to its innovation and characteristics. The native cryptocurrency of the Tron blockchain is the Tronix (TRX). Tron boasts a transaction speed of 2000tps, which makes it higher than Bitcoin and Ethereum, and the token currently ranks #29 by marketcap on CoinMarketCap.

Cryptocurrency blockchains cannot function without the use of wallets. Wallets are the way users access their cryptocurrency assets. Essentially, these wallets function as secure storage of the cryptocurrency assets through the use of asymmetric key cryptography. TronLink is the official digital wallet for the Tron Ecosystem.

The TronLink wallet was first launched on the Tron official website, and boasts itself to be highly secure and user friendly. Like any other wallet, its major function is the storage of cryptocurrency assets, and the conduction of transactions with other holders of cryptocurrency i.e. sending and receiving of cryptocurrency assets. However, here are some extra functions of the TronLink wallet:

• The TronLink wallet supports TRC-20, and TRC-10 tokens, as well as exchange between the two types of tokens.
• Freezing and Unfreezing of TRX tokens i.e. staking. This enables users to participate in governance and voting, and earn passive income.
• The wallet is linked to a number of Decentralized applications within the Tron ecosystem, enabling users to carry out transactions on, and interact with these DApps without leaving the app.

The TronLink wallet can be downloaded and operated on Android, Apple and Huawei Harmony Operating Systems, it can also be downloaded as a browser extension on a number of browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Brave browsers.

One of the features of blockchains is being open source, and another is being decentralized. These two features indicate the need for users and participants to be able to see what really goes on behind the scenes in the network. This is the function of block explorers. Block explorers are online tools used to view the behind the scenes of a blockchain network, and this is exactly what TronScan is.

TronScan is the official block explorer for the Tron blockchain and ecosystem. It is used to view the going-ons on the blockchain, right from the genesis block to the present minute. It allows users to search out transactions, and validate and confirm these transactions from the Tron public ledger. Including this, here are some more functions of TronScan:

• It allows users to view accounts, nodes, blocks, smart contracts and all forms of on-chain data.
• It supports token creation and voting.
• It also supports contract deployment.
• It can be used to view wallet balances.
• It has its own integrated wallet, through which users can send and receive TRX.
• It can be used to check current network fees.

How do you verify a transaction status(including timestamp, resource consumption(bandwidth & energy), nos of confirmations) using Tronscan-- Examples, Screenshot?

In order to complete this task, i made a transaction from my tronlink wallet. Here is the transaction process and transaction details:

To check this transaction:

• Go to TronScan

• Type in the hash of the transaction you want to view in the search box and search.

• The transaction information is pulled up.

From the above screenshots, we can see the following information:

• Transaction Status: Confirmed
• Timestamp: 2021-10-23 11:01:33
• No of Confirmations: 19
• Bandwidth used: 100 Bandwidth

We can also see other information like the sender's and receiver's address, the transaction fee, the block number and more...

What are the different dApps can you explore using the TronLink wallet?

As mentioned above, one of the features of the Tronlink wallet is the connection to dApps within the tron ecosystem from right within the wallet application.

In order to perform this task:

• Open your TronLink Wallet ( i am making use of the Android version on my phone)

• Click on Discover at the bottom to open the dApps page.

• Click on JustSwap on the dApps page.

• On the landing page of JustSwap that is brought up, put in the amount you wish to swap, and the cryptocurrency you wish to swap it to, then click on Swap.

• You will then be requested to confirm swap.

• After this, you will be requested to put in your password. Put it in and click Done

• After doing this, your swap is completed.

Tron is one of the most innovative blockchains and these are some of its features and co-applications. With this i conclude all my Steemit Crypto Academy Season 4 Beginner's Tasks, and while i am exhausted, i must say, the knowledge was certainly worth it. Next up, the Dynamic Tasks!
