Hackers out there do not care about how hard you have worked to accumulate what you have. We just have to be very careful especially when it comes to following links that promise rewards too good to be true. It is also important to store your keys on hardware like a flash drive.
One thing that has also helped me is that, when I am not sure about a link, I don't click it. I just stay away.
