The number of vests a user possesses determines their influence on the platform. Essentially, vests can be considered as shares or ownership stakes in Steemit. analogous to traditional companies, Steemit allows users to invest in their platform and reap returns. These investments are measured in the form of vests held in a user's wallet.

Analogous to the share system in traditional finance, we can regard vests as our shares in the Steemit platform.
