Good day to everyone, my name is oluwatimileyin and I welcome you to the season 10 of the engagement challenge.

I welcome you to my participation in the week 1 of the Engagement contest with the title: "Resource Credits Vs Bandwidth."

Before I make my entry into the contest, let me use this moment to invite @yakspeace, @Lhorgic, and @jueco to participate in it as well

What is bandwidth in blockchain? Explain in your own words

Blockchain technology has helped to change many sectors by providing a safe and transparent decentralized networks. Bandwidth is an important feature of blockchain technology as it use to ensures fast transmission of data and to improve network performance.

In a simple term, Blockchain bandwidth can be referred to a network's ability to send data within a specified duration, it encompasses the quantity of data that can be carried through a blockchain network, like transactions, smart contracts, or other processes, and they are represented as bandwidth.

Each blockchain network allocated a specific amount of bandwidth to its users, reducing the number and size of transactions that can be carried out at a time.

Steem Blockchain uses Resource Credits, explain how it works

The Steem Blockchain is a famous decentralized social media Blockchain and it uses Resource Credits (RC) to establish a resource management mechanism. RC shows the network resources that are available assigned to each user, allowing users to carry out various blockchain actions such as Posting content, commenting, voting, and transferring tokens are examples of these operations.

The Resource Credits system is based on "spending" and "recovery." When a user carry out a task through the Steem Blockchain, such as posting or commenting, they use a particular amount of RC based on the operation's complexity and it's algorithm requirements.

And Whenever it happens that a user's RC balance has fallen below a certain threshold, they enter a recovery period in which their RC slowly recover over time. This method is implemented to stop users from sending spam to the network at a time.

What is the difference between bandwidth and resource credit on the Steem blockchain?

Although bandwidth and Resource Credits are connected, but they perform different roles on the Steem Blockchain. Bandwidth refers to the network's data transmission capability, whereas Resource Credits indicate a user's ability to utilise that bandwidth.

Bandwidth is measured in bytes per unit of time and it represents the highest amount of data that can be transmitted in a given time period. Because every task consumes a certain amount of bandwidth, and it limits the number of operations a user may execute at a time, When the bandwidth has been exhausted, the users have to wait for it to recover before proceeding with their operations.

Resource Credits represent the resources required to carry out specified tasks. They check the complexity and the processing power that is required for a given operation, Resource Credits is use to ensure equitable resource distribution between users and to prevent misuse of the network.

What is your available resource credit? Show the step by step and screenshots are required

To perform this task, I will use the webpage which I am familiar with.

Step 1: Login to your Steemit page from the Steemworld website (https://steemworld.org),Log in with your account details.

Step 2: Then you can click on stats, to see your Resource Credits.

As seen in the image, I can view my RC status and my Resource Credit is on 100.00 % and I have 3,584,938,800,277 RC, and I can easily use this to perform the various tasks I had wish to perform on the Blockchain such as posting, commenting and others.

Conclusion

Bandwidth and Resource Credits are important components of the blockchain network because they help to provide fast data transmission and equitable resource allocation on the network.

The Resource Credits on the Steem Blockchain provides a strong system so as to handle the network resources, and also help to maintain a healthy blockchain network so as to prevent everyone from congesting the network.

Hello dear friend, @negro-bby. Hopefully, you will be doing well.

I congratulate you for sharing such a nice entry in this contest. You have beautifully discussed all the parts. Bandwidth is the rate of data transfer within the network, it's true.

They check the complexity and the processing power that is required for a given operation,

Yeah, I agree with you that the amount of resource credits consumed is dependent on the complexity of the activities, the more complex activity, the more will be the consumption of RCs.

Thanks for sharing. Great luck ahead 🤞

Hola negrobby 😊

Hello so you have in a very good very try to cover each and every topic and every aspect bandwid is actually a very secure way transfer data and as you have mentioned in your post that this is the very important aspect of the blockchain and

And bandwidth and the other component are the same or some how connected with each other this is I think the new thing which I came across to my knowledge and I have also give my small refers for this topic and I have also participated do check my post and leave your important and valuable comment thank you for your participation
