INTRODUCTION
(1) What will happen if you vote before "5 mins age of a post" & after "6 days 12 hrs age of post" in Steem Blockchain? (Include your own experiences/Examples)
If I vote before 5 minutes age of a post, I will lose certain percentage of my citation reward because that period is known as Reverse Auction. Below is what happens
*At 1min age of a vote, I will lose 80% and gain only 20% reward.
*At 2mins age of a post, I will lose 60% of my reward and gain 40%
*At 3mins, I will lose 40% and gain 60%
*At 4mins, I will lose 20% and gain 80%
This is what happens. So I have a certain percentage of my reward that will not come to me but goes back to the voting pool.
Similar to what happens if I vote before 5mins age if a vote is what happens when I vote after 6 days 12hrs age of a vote. My voting worth will start reducing until it becomes 0% at 7 days age of a vote.
So in a nutshell, one will be certain to gain 100% of his voting reward if he or services between 5mins age of a vote and 6 days 12hrs age of a vote.
I have a personal experience of one post I voted at @gabmr post as you can see in the screenshot below
This screenshot shows that I voted at 4mins 33s
From my experience below, it shows that I voted before the normal voting window and as such a certain % of my reward has gone back to the reward pool. And the % is 20% or less.
(2) How do I check how much reward of a post has returned to the reward pool in Steem Blockchain? Include screenshots (Hint- Steemworld.org)
To find out how much of a reward of a post has returned to the reward pool in the steem bockchain, we do that in steemworld.org as you have hinted. What should be done is to go to my browser, and type www.steemworld.org/@ngoenyi is I want to check from my own account for instance. On getting to the steemworld page, I will click on dashboard, after it has loaded, it will then bring me to my page. Then I will go down to posts and click on the image of that particular post that I want to check, it will display the summary of the post, on a closer look will see payout returned. See screenshot below
my steemwrld page showing posts and the image I clicked
My steemworld page showing the reward that returned
You can see here that 0.71% of my reward goes back to the reward pool. And that is a total of $0.127.
(3) Under what circumstances a curator can earn more than 100% upvote value as curation rewards?
When a post earns a reward, the reward is usually divided into 2. That is to say that 50% of a reward of a post goes to the curators. So all who voted on that particular post will receive a reward. Ordinarily, those who voted within 5mins and 6 days 12hrs are to receive 10% of their voting weight. But it is possible to receive more than that and that is if you are the first to vote within that period and if a whale visited after you have voted. In that case, you can receive more than 100%. You might wonder how possible it is? Well, let me demonstrate with just one example using the citation formula below
(4) Pick any random post you have voted in Steem Blockchain and indicate the time and position of your voting, what is the projected curation reward? (Include relevant Screenshots) (Hint- Steemworld.org)
I am choosing a post by @meymeyshops which I voted.
The voting time is after 59mins 15s
Vote position is 42
The projected citation reward is $0.075sp
From my steemworld page, this screenshot shows that I voted for meymeyshops and it also shows the projected payout amount as I have indicated on the marked regions
This screenshot shows my position as the last person that voted and the time I voted which I have clearly marked and indicated.
(5) What is the role of curation in better content discovery in Steem Blockchain?
In steem blockchain, the role of curators can never be over emphasised. Since the steem blockchain uses proof of brain, it is then the curators that determine the author that has really proofed his brain as being able to make original content. The curators will have to read through the post, ensure that it is not a plagiarised content and that every information there is coming from the author, and that it 8s relevant to the steem ecosystem and any sourced information or images was truly referenced to lend credence to the original owner of the image or the information. After determining all these, a curator can then proceed to make his comment to share the content further and can even resteem it if possible and then votes on the post. So, their their carrying out the roles I just mentioned, they will be discovering a better content in the steem blockchain.
The curators will determine the quality content and then decide to invite the post to the top trending list. When they they came together to decide on which is the quality content, it will give more good results. They can also determine which one goes against the rule and the can downvote the person if possible.
