Homework Summary [Beginner Course] - Crypto Academy S4/W2 -Technical Indicators.

Hello Steemians, the 2nd week of Steemit Crypto Academy Season 4 has come to an end. The week ran from 00:00 Uc on September 12th to 11:59 pm UTC on September 18th, 2021. My sincere thanks to everyone who participated in this week's lesson.

The second week was awesome and there were a lot of engagements from the students. We are gradually acquiring all the basic knowledge needed to make a good cryptocurrency investment. The risk of investing in cryptocurrencies cannot be overlooked and every beginner into cryptocurrency needs the basic knowledge and tools to make the right investment decision.

In this week's lesson, we discussed technical indicators as one of the technical analysis tools available to help a cryptocurrency investor make the right trading decisions. The technical indicators give valuable information on the current market condition. This information (signal) is derived from historical data points of a crypto asset like opening prices, closing prices, volume, swing highs, and swing lows, etc.

Though technical indicators prove to be a good technical analysis tool, a trader shouldn't rely on these indicators alone for trading decisions. It is advisable to use indicators in conjunction with other technical tools for good trading decisions.

Furthermore, trading styles differ among traders. It is required for a trader to select the best indicator that suits their trading style. Indicators can give false signals which can lead to loss of trading capital.

At the end of the lesson, the students were given homework tasks to test their understanding of the lesson. The homework task will aim at helping the students in the following ways:

• To understand the effect of technical indicators in cryptocurrency analysis.
• To understand the different categories of indicators and how to add
  /configure them on the chart.
• To understand how to increase the success rate of using technical indicators in cryptocurrency trading.

At the end of the week, we had 179 entries. The task distribution is as follows:

• 169 valid entries.
• 5 Invalid entries
• 5 plagiarised/spun contents.

• Invalid is for posts from users who are not eligible to perform the task. Also, late entries are for participants who submitted before the scheduled time which is 11:59 pm UTC, on Saturday, September 18th, 2021.

From the chart above, there was a great performance in the homework task. I can say that this is the best week so far in terms of overall performance. 62% of the students scored between 6 and 8.9, while 27% scored above 9. Similarly, only 3% scored an average score which is as a result of the poor presentation and inability to understand the lesson before performing the task, this producing poor quality content.

Recommendation and Feedback from Homework Task

• The general performance of this week's course was exceptional which can be seen in the pie chart above. 89% of the participants scored above grade 6, 3% of the participants score an average while only 2% scored below average. This result is a great improvement from the students in trying their best to submit quality content.
• Similarly, the students are taking into consideration the presentation skills and use of markdowns. I'm impressed with the improvement in presentation from the students. Only a few numbers of the participants are still struggling to improve their presentation and writing skills.
• I want to commend the effort and improvement of the students in the new season. The quality of the homework task submitted was amazing and I encourage everyone to keep this energy up in the academy.
• Furthermore, the students proved their understanding of technical indicators and have also demonstrated how to add these indicators to the chart. Only a few are still confused about the use of indicators, but this confusion was addressed in the comment section at the time of reviewing the homework task.
• There's zero tolerance for plagiarism in Steemit Crypto Academy. This season, we had 5 cases of plagiarism who copied part of their work from other sources without proper reference to the sources. We encourage everyone to keep publishing quality content. If there's any confusion in the lesson, you are always free to ask questions to get clarified.
• 5 submissions were disqualified from users who broke the rules of the academy. We encourage everyone to adhere to the rules of the academy. This is the only way we can bring coordination in our activities. Always visit @steemitblog for updates and information about the academy.

Conclusion

The use of technical indicators in cryptocurrency trading cannot be overlooked. However, the most important aspect of using these indicators is to understand how they work effectively and also how to filter out false signals from them.
