Voting and curation is the most demanding topic at steemit and especially for newbies it's good guideline to talk about it. Let's have a look at all the questions asked!

Explain in your own words what voting and curating mean for content on Steem, do they mean the same thing? Show the difference between the two terms.

Voting and curating seems to be very similar but actually there are differences among them. These are related to the liking ,disliking or approval disapproval of a post and is related to the whole process by which you choose content on the base of their good quality. Both these are the very crucial and integral part of this blockchain. So it was the major difference between both these terms.

Voting can be in the form of upvote👆 or downvote 👎. It can be done by everyone but the user who holds more steem power will be able to give a good upvote which is of great worth and in the same way he can also downward of a great worth. So below is the relation that I made about voting.

You can upvote at any post and it don't need to check the quality content before voting because it's a part of curating. Everyone can upvote or downvote on any other post. Upvote action obvious meaning is that someone likes your post and downvote action of this meaning is that someone dislike your content.

Curating is a best way to rewarding others on the base of their efforts which they make for the creation of their quality content and curators are those deserving persons which are selected by the steemit team monthly and they are very skilled personalities and that's why they choose the best content at this wider platform and then give them reward in the form of upward and make them more visible and popular in front of others because the content which is curated by a curator have more visibility in front of others and have more chances to get more upvotes.

It's not very easy to curate a post because if there is low quality content in that post which a curator is curating then it means that he don't have good skills to curate it and to identify that which content is good and which is of low quality.

Without voting and curation this platform is incomplete that's why these both things are most important part of steemit

Voting can be encouraging or can be discouraging for a user in a way of upvoting or downvoting his post respectively where as curation is only a way to encourage the quality content of someone and make it more visible to others .

If we vote for a piece of content before 5 minutes or after 6 days 12 hours of its age on Steem Blockchain, will we get the same amount of reward as the other periods? Show how to check the reward amount of a post that has returned to the Steem Blockchain reward pool?

When you receive any vote or any curator curate your content then after that the payout or reward you receive depends a lot on the timing of vote and on the position of vote. The answer to this question is elaboration of this thing so let's discuss it.

Its a scenario based question so for example if someone receives a vote before 5 minutes or after 6 days 12 hours of its age in this blockchain then will that person get the same reward? Answer is definitely no! If a person is receiving a vote before 5 minutes of its age at steemit then blockchain won't accept it to reward as usual so rewarding amount will be different. That's why it is also said that it's much better to curate a quality content as early as possible because it's a best way to get the maximum payout at the expiration of post.

If You vote a quality content in between the timings before 5 minutes and 6 days 12 hours then it will be the best time and the vote that the person receives in this time will be of maximum payout at the expiration of post.

Curator payout = (1/2) √PT (√P1-√P0) Δt

In this formula,

• PT = Payout on Expiry of Post (after 7 days)

• P1 = Payout of Post after vote

• P0 = Payout of Post before vote

• Δt = Change in time.

How can a curator earn more than 100% value of upvotes as curation rewards? Take any post you voted for on Steem Blockchain and give the time and position of your vote, what is the projected curation reward?

A curator can earn 100% duration rewards and even more than 100% curation rewards but it depends upon somethings so let me discuss these things first!

• How much a post have a total pay out
• Is there any whale who supports the post
• Is post curated before the vote or whale or not
• What was the curation timing
• What was the position of a vote

I am here now to elaborate these points for the so a curator have more chances to increase his curation rewards if he curate a post earlier after posting so that there may be more chances of receiving more upvotes at that post because when a curator curate a quality content then it means that he is the one who is making this post more visible to others so there are more chances of getting upvotes on it.

Now after curation if a whale voted on the same post then it would be very beneficial for receiving worthy curation rewards. After curation the more a post receive rewards the more there will be increase in the curation rewards of a curator.

Now if I talk about example so let's say that at 7:00 a.m. I curate a post and the age of post was 20 minutes. The payout of that post at the time of my vote was $0.10 and the worth of my vote was $0.20 so now the total payout of the post is $0.30 and before the expiration of this post it's worth was 10 dollars so now as the worth of this post is increased by the upwards of others now it's a plus point for me as a curator that I earned more than hundred percent reward at this post.

What is the role of curation in better content discovery on Steem Blockchain? Is own voting beneficial to the reward system? Explain why

Curation have a lot of importance and yes it's a best way of encouraging the better content and encouraging the users in a way that by curation the users produce more quality content and they get motivated.Its a responsibility of curator to seek for more valid and more relevant content which is free of plagiarism and free of chat GPT and which also have more creativity.

Curation is a uniqueness of this platform because it really supports all the deserving users and by supporting the more deserving users it promotes the quality content and decentralisation of the platform means which is open for everyone and there is a support on the basis of quality content not on the basis of favouritism.

Self voting means to upvote or downvote your post but definitely no one would like to downvote his post so everyone if allows to upvote his post then it will be dishonesty with the original content creators. Self voting is very detrimental for the system and for the blockchain and for all the hard working users. Self vote is not considered a good act here and is strictly prohibited at steemit.

Steemit team is very hard working and responsible so it not let everyone to vote on their blog and it's really an appreciating act and step because if everyone will vote on his post then there will be no interaction between other users which is the very strong motive of this blockchain to have a good interaction so overall it destroys the environment of steemit.
