I’m super excited about the resumption of season 3 of the cryptoacademy and the initiatives put in place, Thank you to professor @sapwood for your hardwork in the Crypto Academy. This is my entry on the task 1 of the beginners introduction tasks

What is PoB?
The Proof-Of-Brain(POB) in applied in creating contents in Steemit and distribution of curation rewards based on the impact of the content to the Steemit social network. With the POB, block rewards are awarded to individuals who have participated in the steemit network when they create content which tends to add value to steemit (like educating and entertaining other users). With the POB, users are engaged in creating contents and this makes the steemit network interesting to engage in and also new users are attracted to the network.

Distribution of rewards through POB
The funds are distributed to authors of contents in a decentralized manner. According to the Steem blue paper, the POB is influenced by these three properties.

1. Pool of tokens(Rewards pool): The PoB takes 65% of the reward pool in steemit
2. Steem Power(SP): The SP usually indicates the power to share rewards
3. The decentralized voting system through which users of steemit can read contents based on it’s value to them, distribute some tokens to the post.

What does curation mean to you in Steem Blockchain?

The concept of curation in steemit involves reading a content/post and either upvoting or downvoting based on the impact, quality and originality of the post.
A single phrase I’ll use to define curation in steemit is “post judgement” as users will first of all read the post, understand the aim of the post and if the post is useful to them, they then check to see if the post is free from all forms of plagiarism (thus, wether the post is original or plagiarized ) , commenting, upvoting and resteeming the content to attract many viewers in steemit.
In all, curation usually determines the
usefulness of a post in steemit.

What are the benefits of building SP?

Building SP is a form of invest in the Steem Blockchain and every Steem Jan should try in building their Steem power which is a great investment in the long run and it also helps in the development of steemit.
These are some of the benefits of building ones SP.

1. Building Sp gives you more control over payouts in posts so that you can earn on curation rewards.
2. SP can be delegated meaning it can be donated to help in the growth of newbies and communities in steemit.
3. Building SP is a sign of ones seriousness in steemit in the eyes of the curators
4. Holding SP helps you benefit some interest in steemit
5. It also give users the power to vote for over 30 witnesses

How do you explain self-upvote as a good or bad social behavior & why?

Due to the Decentralized nature of steemit, users have the opportunity to either Upvote or downvote a post. Self Upvote is a situation where authors of a post Upvote their own own post. People either do self Upvote to open the way for others to Upvote or to earn a percentage of the curation reward.
In my opinion, self Upvote is a normal act for newbies as it has no impact in the rewards but just to show that they like what they have posted but for whales with great amount of SP, it's seen as a bad habit to do self Upvote. It's like someone power and instead of vesting the power on others to grow, you end up vesting your own power on your own self.

What are the different tokens do you earn by socializing in Steem Blockchain?

Through socializing in steemit, users can be awarded in tokens and some of the tokens can be held as investment, sold out for cash or power up with regards to Steem power.

The following are tokens earned in steemit.

1. Steem Power: As steemit is a decentralized social network, SP increase ones share as a shareholder and it also helps in the growth of steem blockchain in the long run.

2. Steem Dollar (SBD): It's one of the tokens earned through upvotes in steemit, users can convert their Steem Dollars earned from Posts to Steem. It is a currency of the Steem blockchain and it is pegged with the US dollar, thus, in steemit, 1steem is regarded as 1 USD.

3. Steem: This is the coin built for steemit. It is listed in many of the Cryptocurrency exchange platforms where it can be traded for either Fiat or other cryptocurrencies.

Conclusion
Steemit is a wonderful platform for content creators where you'll not regret for joining it. Users are rewarded accordingly just for creating content. I can see a great future for the Steem blockchain especially it's recent integration with the Tron network has made it a great one. I invite all content to join the steemit network to showcase and learn from others worldwide.
