The Steemit Crypto Academy : Season 3 : The Three Levels

For Season 3 the Steemit Crypto Academy is evolving.

To cater for a wider audience we are introducing three levels - Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

To make the transition to this new system easier, the first Beginners introductory courses will be launched this week. The rest of the Beginners courses, along with the Intermediate and Advanced courses, will follow over the next week or so.

Each of the three levels will have different entry requirements, different rewards and different Professors.

The Beginners Level

The Beginners Level will consist of six fixed Introductory posts, and two variable posts each week.

To participate in the Beginners courses students will need to have a minimum reputation of 50 and at least 125 Steem Power of their own (not delegated to them).

Homework posts with a grade of at least 5 out of 10 will receive a percentage vote from @steemcurator02 (4 million SP) of 1 x the grade. For example for a grade of 7 out 10 a post will receive a 7% vote.

Anyone meeting the minimum reputation and SP requirements can do any or all of the Beginners level homework tasks - both the fixed Introductory posts and the weekly variable posts.

The Introductory posts can only be attempted once.

The Professors setting and grading the Beginners courses will be @awesononso (Nigeria) and @lenonmc21 (Venezuela) working as one pair, and @reminiscence01 (Nigeria) and @wahyunahrul (Indonesia) working as the other pair.

The Intermediate Level

The Intermediate Level will have three variable posts each week.

To participate in the Intermediate courses students will need to have a minimum reputation of 55 and at least 250 Steem Power of their own (not delegated to them).

Homework posts with a grade of at least 5 out of 10 will receive a percentage vote from @steemcurator02 (4 million SP) of 2 x the grade. For example for a grade of 7 out 10 a post will receive a 14% vote.

Anyone meeting the minimum reputation and SP requirements can do any or all of the Intermediate level homework tasks.

The Professors setting and grading the Intermediate courses will be @imagen (Venezuela) and @pelon53 (Venezuela) working as one pair, @yousafharoonkhan (Pakistan) and @yohan2on (Uganda) working as another pair, and @asaj (Ukraine) and @allbert (Venezuela) as the third pair.

The Advanced Level

The Advanced Level will have two variable posts each week.

To participate in the Advanced courses students will need to have a minimum reputation of 60 and at least 500 Steem Power of their own (not delegated to them).

Homework posts with a grade of at least 5 out of 10 will receive a percentage vote from @steemcurator02 (4 million SP) of 3 x the grade. For example for a grade of 7 out 10 a post will receive a 21% vote.

The Professors setting and grading the Advanced courses will be @sapwood (India) and @stream4u (India) working as one pair, and @kouba01 (Tunisia) and @cryptokraze (Pakistan)
working as the other pair.

@abcallen will continue producing courses specifically for the Chinese community.

Additional Rewards

As well as the standard @steemcurator02 votes on qualifying homework posts there will be two additional reward options for the best students.

Every week each pair of Professors will nominate their best 3 Students of the Week. These students will receive additional 10% votes from @steemcurator01.

At the end of the season the three students who have performed best with the most number of homework posts and the highest average grades will be selected as the ‘Season SuperStars’ and will receive 50% votes from @steemcurator01.

One student will be chosen from each of the three levels.

We hope you will all enjoy this new three level expansion of the Crypto Academy.

It is experimental so there will likely need to be tweaks as the weeks progress. Make sure you check @steemitblog regularly for any changes to the rules.

People are welcome to do as many homework tasks each week as they are qualified for. They can also move up a level as they grow their reputation and SP.

The levels categorization will definitely make things even better and students will make more efforts to learn and reach to next levels. At the same time, the advanced students will have the opportunity to learn even more and earn more rewards.

There are 6 fixed courses in Beginner Level.

You can start from course 1 homework task and after its evaluation, you can move onto course 2 homework task and so on...

You can do these homework tasks only once.

I think this will snatch opportunity from people of lower level to make it to top. Suppose an advanced level candidate participates in basic level , they are more likely to qualify for weekly best and overall best content creators and therefore vandalize the long term motive of three tier system .

Yes, it is Advanced, will be corrected.

May not necessarily.

Just see the reward a user gets, which is in proportion to the tier(1x, 2x, 3x). So I anticipate healthy participation in Advanced and intermediate tier in the pursuit to earn more.

Let's say there are 6 courses, Do you think an Advanced user will put the same time and effort and earn a 1X reward when he can potentially win 2x or 3x by participating in the Intermediate and Advanced tier respectively.

So the structure is quite balanced, however, we will continue to monitor the pattern that will unfold during the course of Season 3 and will accoridngly adjust to the changing dynamics if need be.

Hello @sapwood. There shouldn't be RP restriction for the beginner level courses. This is the only way for us to raise our RP and to participate in next level courses.But you cannot imagine how hard is for student to get 50 RP and how much time taking it is. Sometime, even after burning your days and night, when you do not get a single curator vote, you get disappointed. So please remove limitation for beginner level courses.

Saya melihat komunitas ini seperti komunitas umum lainnya, tidak ada yang spesifik. Apalagi jangkauan komunitasnya bersifat lokal (Aceh). Di Komunitas ini postingannya lebih banyak tentang fotografi (saat ini sudah sangat banyak komunitas serupa lainnya) dan promo Steem (sudah ada komunitasnya di Indonesia yang di pimpin oleh arie.steem.)

Sebenarnya semakin banyak komunitas semakin bagus, tapi menurut saya komunitas baru harus memiliki keunikan dan fokus pada satu hal yang akan diprioritaskan. Misalnya Fotografi, promo Steem, Newcomer's, dan lain-lain.

So I think it's better if we activate some Steem communities that have been created by some users who have collected Steem, then we contribute continuously and develop talent to create creative content.

Then what we need to do is do a Steem Promo to promote #steem and #steemit. We need to collect energy and do Power ups regularly. So with the contribution of all of us, it will grow and increase the value of Steem

Now I am also developing the "The Youth Steem" team, we are collaborating with several youths to promote Steemit to the people and youth of Indonesia.

This team started as a group of young people who are active and creative in creating Steemit content. we are regular Setemian and we continue to create content and continue to concentrate on some Steem communities. Greetings everyone. I joined to the Steemit Crypto Academy the season before. I had two honorable mentions in the top 3 homework of the week. Actually I have 59 of reputation and 232.343 SP. With this numbers I only can make the beginer level, even when I have proved my capacity to work higher. I am very sad for that but i "understand" that a rule is a rule. My question is ¿Can I make power up with my STEEMs to reach the 250 SP to get The Intermediate Level?

That is the best idea to introduce 3 levela so that maximum steemains get learn and benefit from this system.
In my opinion, it is still some what tough for newbies....They may have level 50 after completing achievemement 4 task but they may not have SP more than 150 even if they powerup their whole steem by converting the SBD's.

Moreover, Additional Rewards system to Season Superstars will surely a big thing which will keep the users motivated.

Hope everyone who wants to learn will have a good time with all the new and ongoing professors of Steemit Crytpo Academy.

Introductory posts would be follow ups from the achievement posts and will be fixed. Unlike the variable weekly tasks we have come to know, these 6 introductory posts do not expire and can be attempted just once.

That means, anyone that joins the academy will have to complete the introductory posts just as if they were achievement posts. This makes the transition into the academy a lot smoother and less overwhelming for beginners.

Yes, but in the Dynamic Courses and in all the three tiers(will start from 28th onwards), should you meet the eligibility criteria.

At the moment 6 Fixed courses are running which do not have an expiry and only the Newcomers who have completed Achievement Task-4 are eligible to partake in Fixed courses, but only once.

Thank you so much. However, considering the advanced graders are more experienced with the courses, wouldn't it be unfair to have them do other courses as well? They would turn out to be the best and therefore rob the new learners the chance to be superstars too. I would suggest they do the intermediate and advanced, and leave beginner level to beginners. Users like me will be more happier after reading out this announcement.. as we are new bie and still are in learning position... So one point in my mind is that what if the student with higher level I mean advanced level try to attempt Beginners Level or Intermediate Level??.
As they will surely beat all new beginners in this way !

The Introductory posts can only be attempted once.

what does this mean? Each professor will have thier own introductory lectures and we are only allowed to do one? @sapwood

This week there will be 6 fixed courses(introductory courses). Whosoever has completed Achievement Task-4 in the Newcomers community is eligible to partake in these 6 fixed courses(only once).

There will be additional two dynamic Beginners courses customized by the professors assigned for the week(will have an expiry of 6 days). It will start from 28th.

So from 28th onwards for Beginners there will be 6 intro courses+2 dynamic courses(having an expiry of 6 days).

I hope it clarifies.

With your current standings, I think you can only participate in the beginner level. If you want to participate in the Intermediate level, then you need to build your SP to 250.

Yes. Although you can only do the 6 introductory fixed tasks if you have completed to at least level 4 of the Newcomers Achievement Tasks.

It's great that we now have three levels to learn.

As for the difficulty, and the fear that the advanced ones will do the simplest tasks, I think that every task requires their effort, even those that we think are easier. Due to this, surely the more advanced are inclined to do the tasks that offer the greatest reward, logically.

Me encantaría participar, ahora bien, ya tengo la reputación y los 500 Sp que se requieren para el nivel avanzado, mi pregunta es la siguiente:

El grado de dificultad, evidentemente, entre un nivel y otro seguro variará, ¿Puedo hacer el nivel avanzado (por mi avance personal en la red) sin haber visto los niveles básicos e intermedio?

¿De alguna manera afectaría mi desempeño en el nivel avanzado no haber hecho previamente los anteriores?

¿Habría algún problema si decido inicir con el nivel básico?.

Tal vez, si pudieran colocar los contenidos de cada Nivel, todos podríamos estar más claros en ese aspecto.

Espero sus orientaciones al respecto.

It's much better idea to distribute the lectures into three level of categories. it will be better for the students to participate. and I hope this session will be the best with such kind of wonderful policy and many will join in the homework task to increase their knowledge on cryptocurrency and its Technology. Nice initiative but most of us the new comers or beginers are finding it difficult to cope with the new development more especially with regards to the SP required.
It seems most of those who were already participation in the assignments before this development have the eligible SP.
I have completed all the Achievement tasks but yet still I only have 18 SP for now, I even wonder how long it I will take for me to secure the required SP.
Most of us are under-previlaged.
I urge the authorities to reconsider the requirements more especially the SP so that most of us who just joined steemit to meet up this unfortunate can have access to the Academy.
