Securing our keys is the most important thing we should consider and do. We can store or secure our key in a different or various ways. As we all know, in a decentralized platform like steemit, keys are not retrieveable, once you loose your key, you can't be able to retrieve it again, because in blockchain or decentralized platform, no third paries like bank, wh can be able to retrieve your key or password through the help of customer care/service.
Now, what are the ways in which my keys can be secured since once loose it, you can't get it back. Well, for me, storing keys offline be pretty cool. I can store my keys offline by the means of printing it out then package it and keep it in a very safe place. I can also store my keys in my mobile phone by storing it in my email address as draft, that will also be cool because, even if you replace another mobile phone, you can still have access to your keys just through logging in your email address. Though, we have to be very careful when we save our keys in our email address as draft, because hackers are everywhere. Without being careful, a hacker might have access to your phone and might also have access to your private key, which can be possible for the hacker to empty your wallet. So not just saving it as draft in our email address, but by also being careful.
Finally, another way i can store my keys is by storing it differently in a different place for example, i will store some in my mind and some as draft in my email address. This could be the best way to secure your keys.
In this section, i will list and explain the 3 different forms of private keys which are÷
- MNEMONIC÷
Mnemonic key is a type of private key that is readable and understandable which mostly have 12 words in number. This mnemonic key is the best private key i love to make use of, because is very easy to read out and understand. see screenshot below
- PRIVATE KEY÷
The private key is a type of key that is combined with numbers and alphabets. Though this private key is hard to understand or carry it in your mind. This key is mostly save as draft in our email address or maybe print out. It usually confusing while trying to read it out.
- KEY STORE FILE÷
This type of private key is seen as the most hardest, very confusing and very hard to understand. Can't it on your mind. see image below
STEP 1
Visit your google playstore, then click on the search button. Search on Tronlink pro it will app out. Tap the tronlink and then click the install button.
STEP 2
When the installation is done, the next thing to do is to click on Open button, when the app opens, you will see 3 option to sign up, you have to choose one anong the 3 option. I choose create account.
STEP 3
When you click on create account, the next page that will display, wants you to accept the users agreement, then click on the accept column.
STEP 4
The next page of the app will open, there you are required to set your username, then choose your password and confirm it too.
STEP 5
Congrats!!, you have created a tronlink wallet account.
In my opinion, i can say that the best way for me to store my keys is by storing it in different places, like copy some in a notebook, have some in my mind and then the remaining in my email address as draft, i guess that is the best method to use in storing keys, to avoid loosing your keys yo hackers. see image below
The best private key i have ever used is the mnemonic key and am so much comfortable using it because it's very easy to understand and very easy to read out. The mnemonic key is my best key.
CONCLUSION
