Crypto Academy Week 3 Homework Post for @yohan2on || ECENCY VS WHATSAPP (Social Media)

Hello Steemian!!

This time I will discuss about the homework provided by our professor @yohan2on which the homework is to compare and explain the two applications based on Decentralized and Centralized applications. The discussion that I chose for me to discuss is about applications that work in social media and the two applications that I choose to discuss are Ecency and Whatsapp.

I am sure that many of us already know what Whatsapp is, because WhatsApp is an application that we use everyday to communicate with other people. On the other hand, there are still many of us who don't know or haven't even heard of the Ecency application before, so before I go into a more detailed discussion, I will first introduce what it is.

ECENCY

Ecency is an application that is used to post whatever we want, our daily stories, hobbies, passions and even things that are not important even though we can post it on Ecency. However, what distinguishes Ecency from other applications is that we can get a commission in the form of a Crytocurrency called HiveDollars, this simplified Ecency works the same as Steemit but the crypto assets that will be given as rewards are different.

The Difference Between Ecency and Whatsapp

Between the two applications there are several differences which in my opinion are very interesting to discuss, some of the differences are:

1. Reward

The most striking difference between Ecency and WhatsApp is that there are rewards and not. As I explained earlier that Ecency will give us a reward in the form of a crypto asset called HiveDollars from each of our posts that get votes, while WhatsApp doesn't create a reward mechanism like Ecency.

2. Ease of Use

For ease of use I will choose WhatsApp as the winner, Why?
The first thing that makes WhatsApp a winner is the readiness of the application in serving its users to use WhatsApp, we very rarely get bugs or lag when using the WhatsApp application. In contrast to Ecency, which lags very often when we open the application, even though the cellphone network does not have any problems, and when we are opening the application there are often bugs that cause us to exit the Ecency application itself, this makes us bored if it keeps happening so we will be lazy to open the Ecency.

3. Privacy Security

For security issues I prefer Ecency. Because as we know that security in the blockchain system is very tough and difficult for hackers to crack, we can see that from the password provided by Ecency when we registered, the password code provided was very complicated, even we ourselves couldn't memorize the password given. , so we must first store it in a safe place. For WhatsApp, I cannot guarantee its security problems, even though the application is legal in various countries but it does not rule out the possibility that the developer will use our privacy data for things that are not reasonable. As we know recently WhatsApp made a policy so that users are required to share privacy data with Facebook, this has made many people turn away from WhatsApp and use other applications that they think are safer.

Those are some of the differences, advantages and disadvantages and the two applications, each of which has positive and negative sides and both of them are equally useful for us to use. 👍
That's all from me, apologize if there is something wrong in my explanation, if you find these deficiencies or errors you can comment in the comments column below.
See you guys on next post!!
