It is no longer news that we have false prophets in this present world. They have always existed even from ancient times. As a matter of fact, as we get more and more closer to the return of the Lord Jesus, they will increase in number. So-called prophets who are actually nothing but sorcerers and they will multiply as the years go by.
However, the Lord said expressly that by their fruits you will know them and definitely not by their so-called miracles, neither is it by their signs and wonders, but by their fruits. He said a good tree shall only yield good fruits. In other words, if they are truly his prophets, then they will only bring forth good fruits. If you see them bring forth any terrible fruit, then they aren't from Him.
What are some of the evil fruit to observe from the false prophet?. Greed is one evil fruit that will be very obverse in a false prophet. Any prophet who tells you to bring your hard earn money in other he can prophesy for you is certainly not from God. If the person tells you to give him money in other to prophesy, he is definitely not from God.
Our God isn't greedy, so if the prophet is bearing the fruit of greed, the person definitely not from God. Some so-called prophets will even tell someone to offer them your new car to get some spiritual benefits. Tell the person that you are a child of God too and the Almighty God has spoken to you.
Another fruit they bring forth is that of fear. They always see to it that they put fear into your heart. They use fear to manipulate their victims. They know that once they tell you that evil is on its way, you will be prepared to do anything to make it not come. If you see a prophet who often prophesies doom, run away from the person.
A real prophet, even if he sees evil coming will pray for it to be not to come to pass. If the person tells you the prophecy at all it is so that you can pray very well in your secret pray. He won't desire to put fear in your heart but to encourage you to pray against the impending doom.
He would even prefer that the evil didn't come to pass and he is called a false prophet than for the evil to come and then be bragging about the accuracy of his prophecy. Fear is a spirit and it is certainly from the enemy; anyone who is putting the spirit of fear to you is from the devil.
There are no prophets or apostles today. If there were, they would be able to perform miracles.
