In a bid to sidestep the verbal rebuke of the word of God coming from the mouth of other Christian, some Christians quote these words of Jesus in Matthew 7:1-2.
While the facts confirm that some Christians today rush to pass judgment on others for situations they are going through, which is an attitude the Lord cautioned us against, it doesn't imply that we can't declare the counsel of God whenever we are so moved by the Holy Spirit to do so. The question is, what is the difference between having a judgemental disposition and declaring the entire counsel of God through teaching or preaching? Actually like retribution, the judgment also is the right of the Almighty God.
As exhibited in the story of the adulterous woman, He alone is the exact and righteous Judge and from the story, we see that man's judgment can be faulty because the one judging another person might also be guilty of the same sin. Only God is without sin, therefore He alone is sufficiently equipped to pass judgment. Without a doubt, He has passed judgment through His Word, and He will affirm this judgment through the Lord Jesus Christ on a day he has appointed.
To be judgemental is to judge in a wrong way and a lot of people are prone to doing this, and this is the reason why we are cautioned not to judge. Paul's experience in Act 28:1-6 is a typical illustration of the mistake of man's judgment.
The Lord had just saved the lives of Paul and those whom he was going with because of Paul's right standing with Him. While the apostle was gathering sticks to increase the hotness of the fire that was keeping them warm, a poisonous snake got him by the hand and some of the local individuals of the land where they were shipwrecked jumped to the conclusion that Paul was evil and that was the reason enemy was as yet after him, despite the fact that he had managed to survive a shipwreck.
How off-base they were! Let us therefore to be mindful prior to drawing connections between events because what we know is limited. Let us allow the word of God to speak the judgment of God without anyone else and not embed our own speculation and intentions into the fray.
