The sure defender of the persecuted the Almighty God. David’s personal experience of this truth caused him to pen the words of Psalm 3:1-8. Is the Lord Jesus your defender?

Your answer is likely to be “yes”, but your behavior may say “no” in the sense that the person you run to tells who your defender truly is.

Is this also your testimony? Who do you run to when confronted with challenges in life, your biological father, mother, companion, or worst of all, a witchdoctor? The story was told of a man who went to seek help from a witchdoctor.

The witchdoctor promised to help this fellow and the witchdoctor told him to come back in seven days for a charm that would overcome his foe when he arrived on the seventh day, he met a lot of people in mourning, and the man initially thought that one of the witchdoctor’s in-patients must have died.

To his surprise, however, when the man asked to see the witchdoctor, he was told that the one who promised him triumph over his adversaries had just died.

David was able to put his trust in the Lord God Almighty because he refused to be afraid of men, despite their fiery looks and large number.

The psalmist also did something very important that I would like you to do today: David cried to the Lord and he didn't pretend that all was well like some people do.

In Psalm 3:7, David prayed an important prayer that God should arise to save him. This prayer worked for David, and it will surely work for you also if only you won't have any other god besides the Almightily Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After crying to God, David confirm that salvation belonged to Him and that the blessing of God was upon his people
