I SAVED A SOUL

Justin was a schoolmate of mine. We attended the same primary school and he was a classmate to my junior brother. I was a class higher than him.

Justin was friends with two other boys name chisom and Ebube. Chisom and Ebube were known bullies in school. They particularly enjoyed taunting my junior brother.

My brother was always constantly complaining to me about them. Every single day would see me walking up to them, lashing out threats of reporting them to the school authority and fishing them a cup or two cups of insults.

That particular Friday, during break period I was alone in my class which was quite usual of me when I saw Justin passing by. I called out to him and asked that he spared me some of his time that I wanted to speak to him.

He came over and sat with me. I asked him if bullying people was something he enjoyed doing and he said No. I asked again if he enjoyed seeing people in pain and tears he said No. I made him understand what bullying was, how it affects the victims and also gave him reasons why he should stop it. One of the reasons I gave was that God won't be happy with him.

I remember saying this to him "Justin, if not for anything even if not for me for the sake of God and enternal life, stop this act. Don't let people make you do things you naturally won't consider doing."

I and Justin's little chat ended with us praying and tears rolling down his face as he asked me for forgiveness. I told him that I had forgiven him and he told me thank you.

On Monday, I was called to the headmistress's office. I was asked if I did anything for/to Justin and I casually told them about our little chat.

Then they broke the news to me that JUSTIN WAS DEAD. He was hit by a trailer on Saturday and he died on Sunday.

I was taken to Justin's house. Immediately I walked into the room, a woman walked up to me and asked if I was Miracle. I said yes and she hugged me crying and saying Thank you. She said that Justin's last statement was "Help me tell Miracle thank you"
