It's quite funny that God created man to serve him, but man creates his own gods to serve. The fingers of the Almighty designed man in such a way that he must serve, whether he likes it or not. We are all wired for service.
But since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, and his consequent expulsion from the presence of his God, man, over the ages have in different ways, been serving the wrong gods, the works of his own hands. Man has forgotten his Maker, man has lost the true God, and this leaves a great emptiness within him. This emptiness is what drives man astray. He goes to the wood and says, thou art my father. He gathers stones together and says to it, thou art my god. To the iron he says, I am begotten of you. He serves other men, he serves his own belly.
But in all of these, man soon discovered that there is neither joy, nor fulfillment in this kind of service. For it is written that in the presence of God, (that is, the true God alone), there is a fullness of joy, but sorrows abounds in the presence of the other gods. Man must therefore hastily return to his Maker, but who will show him the way?
Thanks be to God for quickly sending His only begotten Son to deliver man from his great confusion. For he came to us and says in a loud voice: "I AM THE WAY..." But who has believed his report? There remain yet many who still bow to stones and idols of diverse sorts. Why is it so hard to believe his claim? The Father was not silent either, for he once tore his heavens and shouted, "THIS IS MY BELOVED SON...". O man, do you believe Him? You must! You really must!
May God himself enable you to find Him and to serve Him in a way pleasing to Him. May you not be servants of men, may you not be servants of idols. May you be servants of the most high God alone. See you in heaven soon! And in case you find someone serving a wrong god, endeavor to correct him, for this is another way of serving the true. TELL THE WORLD ABOUT THE TRUE WAY THAT YOU HAVE FOUND! And the Lord bless you exceedingly in Jesus name.
Thanks for reading through.
