First Reading
The book of Act 2:36-41
Peter spoke to the
jews on the day of Pentecost. Even the Israelite knows that God made Jesus both the Lord and Christ.
The jews hearing what Peter and the apostles said then asked, “what are we going to do now”. And Peter answered them and said “all of you must repent” you must give your life to Christ and ask for forgiveness of your sins. God has promise you and your children, and those that are far away from you a better life. Peter preached to them for a long time and he urged them to save them selves from this sinful generation.
The jews were touched by Peter's words and they listened to Peter and ask for forgiveness. That day many people were added to their number.
Second reading
John 20:11-18
Mary was crying outside the tomb. She was still crying when she stand up to look inside the tomb, she saw two angels dress in white and their were sitting where the body of Christ had been. One angel at the head, and the other at the feet.
The angles asked Mary, “woman, why are you crying? Are you looking for someone?”
And Mary replied, “they have taken my Lord away and I don't know where they have put him.
As Mary finished explaining, she turned around and saw Christ standing there, but she didn't recognize him immediately.
“Why are you crying? Who are you looking for?” Christ asked.
Mary thought he was a gardener. And Mary said, if you have taken him away please tell me where you have put him, I will remove him.
Christ said to her, Mary! She now recognized the voice and knew it was him. Mary called him in Hebrew, “Rabbuni” which is Master.
Christ said to her, go and find my brothers, tell them I'm ascending to my Father and your Father.
Mary went and told the disciples that she had seen Christ.
