Many folks struggle with weakness and addiction, and they have the desire to live in victory over their weaknesses with the help of God.
We are in constant contention with carnal inclinations, what we want to do, we do not do, and vice versa. The Apostle Paul also went through this phase in his journey of faith, but he had victory over the flesh(Romans 7:15).
Addictions are what control you and have a hold over you. You can only win this battle if you apply the right strategy. Fight with the weapon at your disposal to pull down the stronghold of addiction–the Word (2 Corinthians 10:3).
Anytime wrong thoughts, imaginations, motives, and other things that trigger you to go back to your weaknesses cross your mind, pray out loud and declare the specific word of God boldly.
Our desires and passions sponsored by the flesh have been crucified because we belong to Christ(Galatians 5:24). We shouldn’t permit our weaknesses to form a stronghold of addiction in us.
“Before you were led astray, you were so faithful to Messiah. Why have you now turned away from what is right and true? Who has deceived you? The One who enfolded you into his grace is not behind this false teaching that you’ve embraced. Not at all! Don’t you know that when you allow even a little lie into your heart, it can permeate your entire belief system?”[Galatians 5:7-9 TPT]
Breaking out of addiction takes time, but don’t give up! The word works!
